John Battle
Grant Delpit
Eric Monroe
Jacoby Stevens

Before Battle went down vs AU, Monroe wasn’t seeing the field as it was. He’s gotten more PT as they’ve rotated with Battle coming back. But Stevens just got back to the S position a few weeks ago. He’s 4th on the Deptch Chart. There are-literally-two former 5-Star HS S ahead of him. He’s 18.

Try a little patience, Baw.

Russell Shepard II

Russell Shepard is in the NFL still, not a star but a good athlete.

His career at LSU was not all american but his stats were actually good

averaged 6.88 yards per carry rushing and had 104 rushing attempts enough to have a sample size

averaged 9.74 yards per reception on 58 receptions again enough to have a sample size.

Have you guys ever thought maybe we should have gotten the ball into his hands more often.

The bottom line is Shepard played for LSU and did not live up to 5 star status but he was not a flop either.

Miles recruited him as a dual threat QB and he never played a down at that position at LSU

He stayed for 4 years
Shepard did not transfer
Shepard helped with recruiting
Shepard did not get into trouble

If every recruit LSU signed did this same thing look where we would be.

They mean very very little and for some reason, our fans can’t comprehend that.

There are some 5* who are graded that way because of potential, and some 5* who are ready to compete at the college level immediately. See the numerous LSU 5* that have done bumpkiss and been passed by 3* and 4*.

Let's not do this. By and large, the star rankings are a very good evaluation of talent. A few busts does nothing to dispel that.

I leave it to Corey Raymond and Dave to decide who gets on the field. Stevens is still learning the safety spot. He only only played it one year in HS.

And nobody has even mentioned Todd Harris yet. He was also said to have developed quickly to play Nickel or S.

Wasn't Stevens instrumental in bringing Phillips here too. And Phillips hasn't seen extensive action yet either!

Same reason other freshmen are ahead of Deculus. They were beaten out.

What don't you get? He's not the best option at safety. What makes you think he is? His 2 plays on defense this year? His 3 special teams tackles?

Do you not think Dave Aranda wants the best players to play? I'm gonna go ahead and trust his evaluation more than the Tiger Rant's.

Should have*

And no he shouldn't have. 5* safetys don't stay on campus for 5 years. He will either transfer cause he isn't playing, or he will leave for the NFL. Get what you can get out of him while you have him.

Phillips has played plenty this year especially last night.

Delpit is obviously better than Stevens and probably so is Monroe.

Every kid won't play right away, his time will come.

Because t obviously not in the coaches best interest to play the most talented players

If coaches that he was better than what is out there, he would be playing. We obviously have no issue playing freshman
