Unpopular opinion:

Kling doesn’t transfer and makes major improvements at the plate.

would be nice but altho he started alot he has just been not even close to sec caliber at the plate. Am I wrong in saying that? He just seems immature.

The portal doesn’t look too promising now, but that could change.

There will be lots of good players in the portal once teams seasons start ending.

There will be lots of spots up for grabs next year. Jay will be big game hunting in the portal for sure.

Guidry is not rounding into form as an elite pitcher.

So he has to get into the field. Has not shown power from the plate needed to give him 3base.

I agree, I am not sure he stays as he needs playing time.

You are not wrong at all.

Im just not giving up on him yet.
I don’t think he contributes anything more than pinch running and late game defense this year, but I believe in Jay being able to help him at the plate.

Would it be nice to have him improve like Brazzy did this year. That would be big.

Rotation looks grim with no returning proven dudes. Portal? Yikes

Portal
Shores and Noot returning from TJs
Cam and Anderson improving.

Probably a mixture.

I never thought Kramer would be a good hitter after seeing his first two seasons. He turned it around in year 3.

If Kling has a good work ethic, he can do it.

It’s been awhile since lsu has had a crop of up & coming home-grown arms like chase shores, Kade Anderson, Cam Johnson. Griffin Herring should return as well.

On top of that, if one thing is true, we know Johnson is going to ace the portal with 2-3 other arms. I’m not really worried about the pitching

The worry is potentially replacing the left side of the infield & finding another catching option.

Not even remotely close to the time to begin putting together next year's roster. So many unknowns with just our own team. Then throw in the draft taking/not taking recruits. Then the transfer portal, both far and against us, and this will look wildly different come August.

Can't wait to get the younger Pearson on campus though.

Portal

The good news about the portal is that Johnson/LSU has a solid rep for taking a pitcher and improving his draft status. The success of Skenes, Holman, and Jump should go a long way in helping us grab 2-3 proven kids from the portal again. We need to recruit/sign high school arms of course, but unlike football, I can see the portal being the main pipeline for pitching rather than a supplemental source.
