There are many regional games being played today, not just the two in Baton Rouge. TV coverage spreads them out over the day and night, So it does make sense. If it were 90 degrees and they had a day game people would be on here saying day games makes no sense. LSU opponent has to play an earlier day game and need a break between games, as well.

Pretty sure it was NCAA rules about rest between games. So the losers bracket game had to move back which pushed the LSU back to 8. I think that is why.
