He also only has 1 effective pitch. Besides his FB his slider breaks about 4 inches and looks more like a C level cutter. He’s just not going to get through lineups this year, 2 innings max if he’s really spotting the FB well. Can still be a huge positive for this team in that role.

His breaking balls are good, he just hasn’t been able to throw them for strikes almost if the year.

His slider doesn’t move. Hitters kill it, they swing and miss on his FB.

A closer is a necessity, not a luxury. A team that is contending for a championship needs a closer. If we think we are so bad that we will be out of the games by the end then we are really screwed.

You def need a guy you’re confident in to close out tight games but in college there aren’t as many so you don’t have to have an MLB style closer. You use that guy in different spots as needed.

Don't start Little any more is #1. Hurd wasn't successful as a starter so I wouldn't try that.

I'd rather start Riley and try to get 3 to 4 innings of 1 or 2 runs allowed baseball out of him.

Or start Gudry and see how that goes.

This is a dumb suggestion. White needs to be behind Crews. I like the adjustment they made to the lineup putting Crews in the 2-hole. I actually want to see Dugas, Crews, White, Morgan in that order.

As far as moving Hurd back to the weekend starter, I'm not sure now is the time to do that. Hurd just got his momentum back in the role he was given. I would adjust the pitching rotation moving Little back to the bullpen and potentially move Coleman or Herring into the starter role. I just wouldn't mess with Hurd after seeing him have success coming out of the bullpen the last few outings.

Posts like these are the best

Can’t remember exactly but a couple of seasons ago there was one after a loss IIRC about PM needing to be fired for sitting the hottest hitter
It was Dugas & he had thumb surgery a week or 2 prior to the post
