Not really. The best way to try to boost attendance at the spring game is to keep it off TV and keep it free to the public.
Attendance for last year's spring game was way better than previous years.

Some of us are far away and can't make the trip unfortunately. Which is really too bad bec I'd love to see it.

Agreed, people will still go to the game because we are anxious to see this team. Having it on TV helps those that don't have the privilege of being in br for the game.
