Thompson hit .286 with a 16% K rate last year, had a 1.26 K to BB ratio and an OBP that was nearing .400 with a OPS over .800. What are you talking about? His mid season form is actually a really solid hitter.

I know it is early and cool weather, but pitchers look strong.

on 1/27/23 at 9:15 pm to ScubaTigerTaylor’s walk was likely due to the home plate ump leaving the game. There were two very close pitches that were called balls to Guidry. Imo at least one of them was a strike. Also, in that inning, Guidry stole 3rd and scored on a PB. Those were on the 3rd catcher. There is definitely a difference between the top two catchers and everyone else behind the plate.
