re: Spinoff: How well have you seen LSU fans treated at away tailgates?

I'm treated extremely well but I'm what you would consider an Apex predator. The alpha of alphas.

Fine at Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida, Vanderbilt. Even Alabama but that was in 03 when they were still down. It's not like we were fed and welcomed, but we were basically left alone, or the occasional friendly comment. Remember one guy in Oxford in 98 said "take it easy on us today." This was a week after we had gone off on State by something like 41 to 6. Of course we blew that OM game in overtime, so there was no need for us to take it easy on anybody.
Had a lot of rude things shouted from passing cars in Georgia in 99.
Literally in your face taunting from Arkansas people after their comeback win in 02. Just trying to walk out of there quietly for a long arse ride home and I've got Arkansas Dave an inch from my nose making pig noises.
Strangely, Arkansas people cooked roast pig in.... I think it was 04 and shared some, it was good. Seems like fan oriented cannibalism to me but OK.

Visited Ole Miss a few years ago when we couldn't get our FG team on the field in enough time to tie, despite having a TO left...
Walked through the groove and tailgated with a buddy attending Ole Miss, the groove is far from being special in any sense. Encountered a few dicks here and there, mostly a good time. Lots of corn dog jokes and set ups, all in good fun though.
One tailgate near the sidewalk had a corn dog on a string thrown over a tree branch going up and down trying to give passing LSU fans some good hearted grief. My heavy set buddy played along with a surprise attack and ran up taking a big bite of the corn dog before they could pull it up again. Everyone who saw it happen laughed their asses off for a good 5 minutes.
Every fan base has their share of "those guys", but for the most part, never been treated badly at an away game. Jokes will be made everywhere, only the thin skinned get offended.

The only place that I have seen our fans mistreated on a large scale was Gainesville. I have been three times and frankly don't have a single nice thing to say about that place. I will never go back there for any reason.
This x a million.

Opposing tailgaters = trashy.

Agree with you on WVU. I expected more than they gave. Wife and I walked around the tailgate before meeting up with some friends. They offered food and drink and said their trip to BR last year was great. They also apoligized up front for the a-hole fans we would encounter.
As far as beer at the game. Loved it.

I've had bad experiences in the vaunted Grove and at Auburn. It may have something to do with my personality.

lots of corndog jokes, but besides that I found Auburn fans unusually nice. Down right suspiciously nice if you ask me
Nicest people I've met at an away game
Honestly Alabama is the only experience where I've seem LSU fans consistently treated like shite, the rest were fairly nice. Just good natured jokes

I had a bad experience at UF in undergrad. They were literally getting in our faces trying to fight after they beat us. Several Katrina comments which find very classless.

have experienced a lot of good natured teasing and football related trash talking but the only time we were subjected to real outright classless hostility was in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was a few years ago when Arkansas went to the Sugar Bowl. We parked at the Golf Course near the stadium. Not just isolated instances. This was from many people and even directed toward women and children. It was the most classless display I have ever seen at a football game. And I have seen a lot and have a high tolerance for that kind of stuff.
My exact experience. Just walking through the tailgate spots guys wanted to fight us as if we were hitting on his sister/wife.
The people we taigated with were nice to us.
I've also been to Georgia and Auburn, Auburn got beat by ULM a week or two before so they were tame. The UGA fans were top notch.

Been going to away LSU games since I was a kid in the 1960s. Here are my ratings.
1. Worst fan experience ever....BY FAR, @ West Virginia. Trashiest people I have ever been around. Only place I've been that I would never return to.
2. Worst fan experience in a place we play regularly: this was a hard one because Ole Miss and Arky are so bad, but the WORST is alabama. Most fans are beyond annoying. I hear waaaay more corndog references in Tuscaloosa than anywhere else including Auburn.
3. I like to go to games in Starkvegas. Locals always are nice to us...always. State is the only SEC football team I can really pull FOR. After they beat us last year, I really pulled for them to win the SEC.
4. My favorite LSU game trips were: 1970 @ NDame, 1984 @ SoCal, 2003 @ Arizona; 2005 @Arizona State, and 2009 @Washington.
5. Places my car has sustained damage while parked for a game: Birmingham in 1978, Tuscaloosa in 2001, and UGA in 2004. My new car had UGA keyed into the driver's side door in 2004. Cost me a few bucks to have that fixed.

Amen to this.....Fuk the gators....never had a good experience down there. Bama ok unless they lose. Great time at SC (prolly the best fans) and UGA. Starkville ok minus the cowbells. Ol Piss good for the most part (hot girls). The rest of the SEC venues average experiences.
Funniest was at Lexington....UK fans think they're actually relevant and act the part. bunch of inbred hillbillies.
