bullshite.

Excessive IMO.

I’m also told when it comes to Johnson’s recent comments flirting with MLB interest, the school would love to have him, but would unlikely go ‘all out’ in order to keep him in Baton Rouge.
This scenario would be the first mistake Verge makes as AD if it actually comes to pass.

Mulkey is a boss, but please show me the returns on the investment and change my mind that doubling the revenue share will pay off either in skins on the wall or brand recognition.

They already have a larger share than all but 2 sports and cutting funds from the cash cow that football is in that redistribution would be a big mistake IMO.

Also college baseball has way more growth potential than WBB. ESPN has pushed WBB as hard as possible and squeezed everything they can get out of it and it still doesn't move the needle. Baseball's talent level has improved tremendously since the shortened draft and if the NCAA/MLB can figure out how to make a few schedule changes so that northern schools can be more competitive it can tap into a much larger market

I'm going to guess he meant to say elevate instead of "alleviate". The coaches have to go all in on helping raise money and CKM and others; like Dee-Dee and Clark have done. WW has hit the ground running by all accounts and is a total 180 from McNuggets.

Exactly, what's left out is that coaches can, will and have to raise money themselves for their program. CMM would not or could not or both, that's why he's gone. If you are waiting around the trough for only what is given to you that's on you. That's why Jay is chirping, he's doing what every coach should do - all they can to help their program.

Like 75% of the posters here don't know either.

This is NOT a personal preference or popularity contest, it’s Business.

You are correct and that is what’s so sad. College sports fans don’t base their fandom on business decisions. I’m a fan of LSU because I enjoy watching the football team, baseball team, and men’s basketball team compete at a high level. When they are not competing at a high level it decreases the amount of enjoyment I get out of being a fan. Jay Johnson has created a program that brings many lots of joy. If we lose him, the program will suffer. We fans will suffer. Example..see basketball post Will Wade. I don’t give a shite if the programs make money or lose money. Inside a shirt they are fun to watch. I’m glad Mulkey is here and our girls are competitive. I took my daughter to the National Championship game and it’s a memory I will cherish forever but quite frankly if they went back to sucking I and most fans wouldn’t really care. Same with softball. Honestly I care more about the women’s gymnastics staying viable than any of the other women’s sports but even them not at the expense of baseball.

We have an opportunity to competing yearly for championships in football, baseball, and men’s basketball. Business decisions be damned, we need to be making decisions that keep these three on top. And I don’t care if nationally baseball isn’t that big a deal. At LSU it is a big deal and if you want to keep LSU fans happy, then the administration better act like it.

You post a lot about women's basketball and softball, so I guess that checks out.

Not trolling here, but are you female? Just curious.

In a dominant run to the 25 National Championship the program lost 2mill$.
MBB on the other hand, McLoser and Co. couldn’t win a church league tournament and still profited 2.2mill$.
This is NOT a personal preference or popularity contest, it’s Business.
Then make an increase to WBB's revenue share make sense. I'll wait for another explanation of the economics supporting such a move.

The actual TV rating show that it is true, LSU fans are just skewed because BB is more popular here than most of the US. Also "national coverage" is undoubtedly true, I promise you many more people nationwide could identify CKM over CJJ or identify any player on the WBB roster over the BB roster. You have to look at it from the outside and not as a BB fan.

You don't think they thought this through? It is obvious to the entire country LSU is not playing around with football and there is no shortage of support. The money will easily be made up with NIL, 5% is only a little more than $1 million, not even a drop in the bucket for the football NIL.

This is quite literally impossible, and I'm not just joking about the posters on the Rant. There are many Tiger Fans out there and they all have preferences, many love BB and many wouldn't mind axing the BB program, just like every other sport. Fans will always be upset about decisions made no matter what they are.

But it is not about people getting all in their personal feeling, it is about what is better for the University in the long term, sometimes tough decisions have to be made, and you need levelheaded mature people to make them, not emotional fans.

. Also Texas AM keeps getting brought up as a potential if Jay leaves, yet I have not been able to find anything to suggest that A&M is following a different rev share percentage than LSU (or the majority of the rest of the SEC/country for that matter)

Wrong Texas school…Jay wouldn’t leave for A&M. If UT ever has an opening, that might make me a little nervous.

100% male here. I just happen to like all LSU sports equally. I think the revenue share argument is being overblown and everyone will end up happy when it is all over. I 100% want baseball to be taken care of, and I think it will be

The comment I made about "twitter bitchers" was directed mainly toward this one particular psycho. Scroll through her stuff and be prepared to want to punch a wall, even if you agree with her
