Just hire Nolan Cain then
It makes no sense to me why they would hire him

wow, he was great for us for a time, but I think his best years are behind him.

I wonder if he’ll find jobs for Alan Dunn, Micah Gibbs, Sean Ochinko, and Grant Fury?

I wonder if he gets the band back together. Cain and Will Davis?

Much respect for CPM. If the energy is there, heckuva hire by USCe.

Surely they must have some long term plan and arent just hiring a 66yo who’s been out of baseball for 3 years lol
Maybe the idea is to bring in Cain to recruit and CPM will groom him to be HC in waiting? Seems like a pretty bizarre hire

Maineiri went through a time of depression following his Dad’s death. That can take a toll on you. He admitted he got a little lazy during that time. I admire someone who will be honest. He may have gotten some pressure from some boosters to retire. He’s had some time to recover. Bertman was close to Ray Tanner at SC. He may have had some influence here.

Gotcha.
If I’m Paul, I’d definitely take it. I’m sure they’re paying him good money and will give him the resources and people around him to be a CEO.

Hit and run and pitch outs coming to usc.

Does that mean LSU can finally remove him from the payroll from his baseball emeritus role. He was also advising BRCC baseball program.
Both gigs were part of Paul’s incentive to “retire”.

Does Hal Hughes have a Covid year left?

This is a joke, right?
I love Mainieri and thank him for everything he did for the LSU program, but there are a ton of coaches that SC could go after that would be better suited.
Amen!

I have been told 2 assistants that will be on staff. None that you mentioned.

I hope he doesn't try to hire Coach Rooney off of our staff.

I hope we can keep our staff intact
