I refereed high school and college basketball for 20 years before my knees gave out. We were always told never to be part of the game. The rule book must contain about 500 different scerinios and cases and we were strictly told to never pull a rule that is so buried in the rule book that only maybe about 10 percent of the instructors knew. For the umps to do that shows all they are after is a biased opinion of the outcome. I wonder which arse hole knew that rule and called for it to be applied. I guarantee you I am will to bet my house he was never instructed to pull that out of his bag.
