Although there have been no public developments for some time, the federal investigation of LSU men's basketball and coach Will Wade remains active, multiple sources told Sports Illustrated this week. FBI agents have been in Baton Rouge recently, sources said, continuing an investigation that dates back several years.

LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette told SI Thursday that the school is unaware of any recent FBI inquiries or presence in Baton Rouge. Attempts to reach Wade’s attorney, Steve Thompson, were unsuccessful. A call to an SDNY spokesman was not immediately returned Thursday.

So no one confirmed this at all.

They literally got zero confirmation from any first party entity and still published based on "sources".

How long can they continue to run stories on something that they can't prove is happening or happened before LSU can sue them for slander?

Call me crazy, but I really can think of a few things I would rather my FBI be working on than some alleged recruiting violations.

Ok, call em in for a few weeks...but years, give me a goddamn break. If you cant find it in a couple weeks, it aint enough to make a damn.

Really makes no sense for them to be in BR. That case has been tried and prosecuted already. The FBI would have no reason to still be investigating anything related to the 2017 scandal at this point

Funny how they called sources to confirm their rumors, didn’t get any confirmation, and ran the story anyways. Amazing at the total lack of journalistic integrity the media has now. They don’t even try anymore

Surely there is nothing else these agents can be working on.

Because they think there is literally no reason for the FBI to be in the state capital, it must be about basketball? They do know they investigate other things from time to time, no?

I'm sure some FBI agents have been in Baton Rouge lately but doubt they're worried about Will Wade and Balsa Koprivica.

Especially considering that Wade was a witness for them.
