Dude, when Maddux was winning Cy Youngs, he was throwing 90/91 with ridiculous movement.

This could also apply to you since you started with the comment "Sorry but Paul Bertucini = Not so much!!".
And the only thing you [SEERITE] have to craft your argument in a forum such as this are words. When you misuse them you should expect a modicum of grief.

Bert got out of a bases loaded jam with one out. Perhaps our standards are a tad high?

i hate to be a negatiger but i have to agree. If you can toss a consistent fastball why are you taking the place of someone who can.

Bertuccini was the perfect guy to get out of that jam but it was retarded to leave him in to pitch the next inning. And they didn't even have someone else warming to start that inning.

He did a great job getting out of the jam, letting him come back in the next inning was a mistake, UVA is a good hitting team, once they realized it was gonna be majority curves they sat on them.......... but when it was 4-3, i had no doubt that it wasnt gonna hurt, that we were gonna score 6-10....

I think Hershisher summed it up pretty well. He is better at getting one or two guys out. He has a much better chance of doing that. But if a batter has time to figure out your break, your in trouble. When he started the inning the UVA hitters had his pitch timed to a T.

It's amazing how much D-1 and MLB coaching talent we have on the board. A lot of you are missing your calling.

Bert. is a good guy to come in against selected rh batters in key situs, just like we juse Cjones for lh batters. Should not have let him in longer but I understand why Manieri tried to get an extra inning out of him.
Can we lay off now? The guy has a place on the team. He got us out of a bases loaded one out situ.

Bert was the perfect guy to come in with the bases loaded, he was the best guy to put in there to get a double play. Who ever said he is getting innings over quality guys is an idiot. The only quality and consistency out the bullpen all year has been Ott other than that it has been hit or miss. (hence the reason we saw two starters come out of the pen) Also Nolan Cain does not throw much harder than Bert.

+1. Bert did his job. That could have been a lot worse that inning he came in to reveleive AR. PB
