His original message was that he didn’t want to build through the portal.

I personally think that seeing Notre Dame go further than his team has lit a fire under his arse to win at all costs. Maybe Notre Dame having success will indirectly benefit us as much as I hate to say that.

Something clearly changed because he put up $1 million of his own money and is going hard in the portal

Agree. Smart people evolve and pivot when necessary. That is what BK is doing.

Money always wins in the end. The same thing happened with Dabo. It’s all fun and games until you see the team fall apart. Money always wins.

He went 8-4 this year and half of his 2023 recruiting class has already left. He found out that whatever his original philosophy was isn’t going to work.

It has nothing to do with Notre Dame. Has everything to do with college football as a whole.

It is just like when Saban fought against the hurry up spread offenses when they were becoming first popular for teams to adopt. He tried getting rules put in to hurt hurry offenses. When he failed and he saw there was nothing he could do, he did what good coaches do, they adapt. He hired Lane Kiffin and and joined the crowd. That is all BK is doing. He is adapting to what he has to do to move to the next level.

It's naive to think BK doesn't look at anything on the national news.

It's all over the place:

"ND is a better program post-BK"
"It's year 3 at LSU - where's the success BK promised?"

Kelly is an unlikeable coach, so people are going to dump on him, and LSU along with him, any chance they get.

Notre Dame in Kelly's last season: #5 in final CFP poll

ND has a solid staff that has proven to be the difference. There top 3 are out performing our top 3.

I’m hoping Woodward had a sit down with him. He needs to spend more time at the facility and get a little more hands on.

So you don’t think the fact that the team he left is now doing better motivates him?

it might be on the list of motivation, but doubtful that it's very high up on that list.

I think he’s done a 180° since the ole “we’re not gonna buy players at LSU” comment, for sure.

Brian Kelly is pissed and he’s adapting to this NIL world and I approve.

He felt the heat from the fans and critics after the Florida loss unlike anything he got at Notre Dame

That’s what changed him
