Well that’s kinda incorrect. It’s a nonstandard word according to Merriam-Webster. But still a word.

No they didn’t.

To be fair, his reasoning for it being a word was, “people use it incorrectly all the time”!

That was catchers interference, we had 16 strikeouts, Skenes had an off night, and we made a base running error. That’s why we lost the game
That's not how the world works. Everything in the game -- including especially the officials -- contribute to the outcome. Arkansas made mistakes, too (striking out, giving up runs, etc.). But pointing out mistakes by one team in now way affects the impact other factors had on the outcome.
There has never once been a team that performed perfectly in any game in any sport ever, and yet millions of them win and deserve to win despite their mistakes. However, sometimes when one of those teams that makes mistakes deserves to win anyway, other factors -- like shitty officiating -- take that win away. It is flawed reasoning to then point to whatever mistakes the team made as if that somehow relieves the officials of any responsibility for any amount of horrible officiating, including outright cheating.
If the refs gave Alabama an extra down every series in football, could we still stop them and win the game? Of course. Would it still be cheating for Bama? Of course. What you're suggesting is tantamount to coming here claiming, "it's not the refs fault we couldn't stop them on 5th & 1!"

Irregardless (yes, it's a word)
Irregardless is only a word in the sense that voiafkidap is a word, since I just used it.
The fact that people make sounds that they intend to convey a meaning does not make those sounds a word in any particular language. It is only when the people speaking THAT language have a consensus on those sounds having that meaning that it becomes functionally a word in THAT language. Whether or not the people using irregardless in this fashion are actually speaking the English language is different question, and one that would resolve the question of whether irregardless is a word in THAT language.
I trust it is obvious that, imo, they are not, and thus it is not.

LSU making it to Omaha has nothing to do with Arkansas.
You can drive around Arkansas to get there, but it’s not the fastest route.

Well, yeah, it takes longer. But on the other hand,

According to some on the rant, LSU has not lost a game this season. Any game in the loss column was due to the umpires.

Is irregardless a word?
quote:
Is irregardless a word? Yes. It may not be a word that you like, or a word that you would use in a term paper, but irregardless certainly is a word. It has been in use for well over 200 years, employed by a large number of people across a wide geographic range and with a consistent meaning. That is why we, and well-nigh every other dictionary of modern English, define this word. Remember that a definition is not an endorsement of a word’s use.
