Tough game today, but I am still super proud of this team!!!!

Tomorrow is a new day! don't count out these Tigers just yet they've been int his position before only to come out victorious.

It's double elimination for a reason. We lost Game 1 of the Super to FSU, but battled back and won the next 2. It ain't over 'til it's over.

Beth just can't quite build a team that can win a National Championship, not an easy task.
All those that fit into this category, need need to go party with Joe, as yall are cut from the same block of granite; "Masters of Mediocrity" with low standards of excellence. (Typical residents of the Bayou State)

BTW, I don't care if it's Football or Softball, as an LSU Alum/Fan, the goal should be SEC and National Championships. (Not just winning seasons)

Jesus people, yes tonight was extremely disappointing but Beth has shown she can bring teams to the college World Series every year now and win here.
No doubt offense needs to be much better, I mean we all know that. I know people want to say our freshman aren't good or whatever but that's simply not the case. We had the #2 class come in this year. Our biggest contributors Springfield and Andrews weren't even considered top 200 players. We have talented kids, shite Doyle was selected to play for team USA this summer.
This isn't a case of no talent but maybe we need to adjust our offensive approach. Talent is not an issue at all. Mentality, mechanics and approach is. Sometimes change from what we have done could be a great thing for this program. I'm not saying fire Dobson but maybe we need to make adjustments to how we work with our hitters.
Still plenty of ball left. This team thrives in these situations. The beauty is we don't see Florida the rest the way, everyone else is definitely more hittable. We can still do this.
Take a deep breath, let's regroup and win tomorrow.

Glad to see Dawson get in the game. Her parents or whomever that is that constantly posts about how dumb Beth is for not playing her will maybe take the night off.
No, they'll show up and say "her frustration is understandable" for being called on to pinch hit in a mop-up role.

correct!

UF will be there.
vast majority of all teams that start 2-0 make it. they showed the stats earlier.
it is why i knew this game was HUUUUGE
oh well, we need to run the table now until we play UF again hopefully

So after all that, after trying to gift wrap a win to Poche he still didn't get it.

I haven't really followed womens softball, so forgive me if I'm wrong here. They from the few games I've watched anyways seem to rely on big gurl's pitching a whole lot. They used her yesterday and now back at it again today, and after a lil bit she seems to fall apart serving up the fastballs over the plate that anybody can hit out if you just get the bat on it. Torina needs to get more strong pitching, that should be her goal this off season. Other than that congrats Lady Tigers for making it to the WCWS again.

you are wrong

a pitcher can pitch everyday in softball. these girls used to pitch multiple games in a day. UF just kicked our asses. nothing more to it.

I did get to see the game in its entirety, live, and for the first two innings, I knew we would have problems hitting Barnhill. Let's face it, the LSU team we saw today is the one we have gotten used to seeing this year. Two hits? Is that right? Landry's bunt-single, and Jaquish's single. ..that's it?
Half the problem is our lack of smarts at the plate. Why on earth would Andrews swing at a 3-1 pitch that was almost over her head? The coach shouldn't have to warn these girls about stupid pitch selection, they are college level players.
Thru the lineup...
Griggs cant hit an outside corner pitch, and she has to learn to step closer and use her timing to protect the inside of the plate. Bad day for her, but she is swinging the bat and thats a good sign. She will be ok.
Jaquish hit the ball
Landry still not seeing the ball well, going over 40 strike outs on the year which is astronomical. Glad she bunted, and I think she is going to breakthrough before this is all over.
Doyle still problem with pitch selection, and she started off bad one time at bat because the umpire called an inside corner strike that almost hit her. Not her fault. At least she is swinging.
Sanchez is about where we thought she'd be. Some of the those zingers she hits down the third base line in foul territory are well hit. Give her time. She has to come through batting in the order where she is.
Quinn didnt have a great night at the plate, but did better in the field this time. Glad she has cut down on errors. I got faith in her to come through when we need it.
Springfield, believe it or not, has shown us one thing, she can bunt better than anybody else on that team. She's got two big problems, her swing is long and loopy, and she will watch the prettiest strikes go by and then, with two strikes on her, swings at something way out the zone.
Serrett has always been a hit and miss batter, at least she isnt striking out. She pops up an awful lot and thats because of her swing.
Andrews showed she is a true freshman tonight, and though she usually surprises us.. tonight she didnt have a great time at the plate. 3-1 pitch and she swings at something over her head. Sheesh.
I thought the umpire behind the plate was the reason Allie had to throw a fourth strike over the plate, and it ended up over the fence. I blame the ump for that one.
As for Carly, she always gets mad when they yank her, it just makes it look like she is really out there for herself, I know thats not wholly true, but she wants to overstay, and maybe Beth should have started Allie.
Really, though, if you do not score ANY runs, does it matter how many the other team scores after they score the first one? Of course, I mean, in hindsight. If you dont score runs, you cant win. Zero runs.. you cant win.
So, yeah, the team we saw tonight is the one we have seen most of the season.
Adjustments....... there is time for a few things....
Mentality at the plate, mindset, pitch selection,
Why are our batters watching the second strike go down the pike, then swinging at something nowhere close to the strike zone? Springfield struggles with that.. many of them do.
Howard needs to talk mindset with the batters. Someone said Florida's underclassmen are better than ours.... well Florida's batters are SMARTER than ours.
Looking forward to the next game... I think we can beat the other teams in front of us. Forget about Florida for now.

True that, I figured it was something like that, but I don't really follow womens softball a whole lot like I said. But big gurl has a tendency to get lazy in her pitching and serves that ball up over the plate a lot. I don't care how fast you throw it, being a former baseball player I know that if it's coming down the center a lot over the plate, all I gotta do is bring that bat around and I can take her deep. I've seen her get rocked like that in a few games I watched them play this year. She's a good strong pitcher, but you have to work that plate like some other women pitchers do that I've seen. They will throw it low, throw it inside, throw it outside catching the corners for strikes sometimes and just get hitters to chase really bad pitches sometimes when they fall behind the count. Big gurl for LSU will work it sometimes, but not enough, she's more prone to try and overpower a hitter and she loses big sometimes like today. They can turn it around though, just look what they did against FSU at their home.

Only on the tRant could you find an a-hole brazen (or ignorant) enuf to label a team that knocked off the #4 national seed on the road, follwed that up by beating the #5 seed in the WCWS but failed to beat the #1 seeded team and remains in the tournament as "Mediocre". Im certainly not a softball expert but anyone that has an IQ over 3 should be able to discern the difference between being one of the final 8 best teams and "Masters of Mediocrity".
If stupid hurt maybe we would see people like semjase at least attempting to avoid it. Maybe??
