He hasn't lost me but I am not a Woody fan boy either. The jury as to how good of an AD at LSU is still out IMO. On paper his hires look really good.

I may be the biggest critic of Woodward’s decision to fire WW. Again I thought Woodward with WW should have fought these allegations together and we would have witnessed one the 3rd or 4th most talented team next season on the LSU basketball court. It would have been an absolute joy to support.

But alas, Woodward chose the route of self destruction. Obviously he wants to rebuild the basketball program in his own image and I will support him in that effort.

No individual is perfect. I can disagree with individual decisions by Woodward and still support him overall.

Same. I felt he dragged his feel letting Ed hang around all football season.

I’ll tell you what happened. Tate called Woodward in and said “It’s Wade or you.

While there is absolutely no evidence this happened, it would be the most LSU thing ever.

There was no decision. Woodward did what he was hired to do.

What’s very soon?

But also if it’s not next year that tells you he’s too hot for anyone to touch.

A coach with his on the court record would have a job right now. He wouldn’t be sitting on the open market. EXCEPT for the off the court stuff

Also he’s gonna get hammered.

I like Wade andni feel bad for him but they’ve got him.

I will listen to other reasons, this one doesn't hold water and just a talking point for the Wade sword swallowers.

similar to the O cult blaming Woodward for Os terrible hires. You never defended Woodward when they did that I wonder why

I’d argue that a majority of the fan base doesn’t give 2 shits about basketball.

False pretext for the rest of your post. He did not lose a substantial percentage of the LSU fan base for the Wade firing. He angered a few clowns on a message board.

The timing on firing Ed was absolutely pathetic by Woody. It’s one of my biggest issues with him, after we hired Peetz and jones we knew this year had no chance, title ix gave him an out to fire with cause and then pay hush money to O. Instead woody rode it out and then fired O after a win and paid him his full buyout despite so much ammo to cut that down.

Woody has had horrendous timing and hasn’t shown he can negotiate worth a shite.

Those were two things we heard woody was great at.

Putting my emotions and admiration for Wade aside, it was inevitable that he was gone. He had just made too many enemies. It wasn't just the NCAA, the entire SEC was aligned against him also. Why? Jealousy, envy, he was too brash and aggressive? Once the FBI tape came out he was a negative for the league. I don't think there is a single doubt that the league was telling it's refs to call them tight against LSU's swarming, pressing defense. They wanted him to fail and they wanted him out. The sportscasters bringing up his situation every time we played a game also was planned. It was just an all out assault that could have only one result. It was a sordid mess on both sides of the coin.

But what has happened cannot be changed without a time machine. The only thing a true LSU basketball fan can do is support the new incoming coach and give him every chance to succeed. We are told the players support the coach and not the institution. Is that the way we as fans are now? I hope not. I was a Will Wade fan but I am first and foremost an LSU fan.

He hasn’t “lost” me but the statement they put out about the “constant negativity” was just a pure melange of horse and chickenshit. No need to imply that a handful of college basketball writers and salty ADs are driving your decision.

Just say “due to the arrival of the NOA and stipulations ammended to coach Wade’s contract, we have decided to part company. We thank coach Wade for his unwavering commitment to the program, but steps must be taken to correct mistakes that have put the program in danger of violating NCAA bylaws.”

fricking hell im hungover as shite in my pajamas ripping a vape and just shat out a better statement than the combination of Woodward and Tate.

That was bad and now we get 20 negative articles about woody and our nonexistent roster.

He didn’t lose me but firing Will Wade was a mistake. Potentially a very big one. He essentially performed a self imposed death penalty on our basketball program. One that had made the NCAA tournament 4 years in a row and a lethal incoming recruiting class. It was a mistake.
