We know BK will die on the sword like LM to play JD. Does he develop a QB or get another JD through transfer portal.

Hopefully Nuss plays.

We have absolutely 0 reason to believe Kelly is starting JD because he "likes him".

Before coming to LSU Kelly was known as a guy who would bench a QB no questions asked. I think it's more likely Nuss isn't actually Joe Montana.

Come on man let it go.

We have played one game. 2024 is a long way away.

I think we have enough of a sample size to know 2 things about Nuss. First is he is a much better downfield thrower than JD and the 2nd is he gives no shits about ball security and will take his shot 100% of the time.

I don't think this is the case. I think BK is relying on the fact JD is mobile in the pocket. I am guessing because our OL is not creating time in the pocket

Last year he was either pressing to win the job or was trying to help his team come back. If Kelly will actually give him the keys to the offense he may just settle in a little bit better.

What do you think? If there's a DT QB available with say 20+ starts under his belt vs Nuss (no starts), who does CBK roll with?

We have Hurley as Freshman and Collins as Soph so doubtful (Hopefully we don't) go into the portal. BUT when Nuss becomes QB LSU "Fans" will bitch about he plays.

If Collins doesn't win the job in the Spring, he is gone. After watching him for several years at Woodlawn, he is another JD. (No, its not skin color, dicks.) He is a one read and run guy. Based on what I know about his HS academics, I don't foresee him being a quick study.

Yes you’re right it’s 2 things
1. He lets it fly down field for TDs
And JD5 haters say I TOLD U So
2. He lets it fly down field for a couple of costly Int
And the other 50% says I TOLD U SO

That may have been true last year, but not this year.

Pass blocking wasn’t the problem, seeing open receivers on time and getting the ball out on time was the problem. Run game has issues, in part, because it was obvious early that we did not have any downfield threat. If we had a QB that was at least a threat to take the top off, it would help create some space to run the ball.

Nuss proved against UGA he can play behind this line. It is also painfully obvious that JD regressed against Arkansas and A&M (and Nuss should have gotten a shot then). He looked bad against UGA as well and the only reason Nuss got a look was because of injury. At this point, to not give Nuss a look appears to be very stubborn.

Not saying JD is the reason we lost or that he played terrible, but he is not effectively getting the most out of our offense, why not see if the other guy can do that because in a small sample size against the best team in the country, he did just that.

It will be Nuss. He already said so. He knows what he will be seeing this year. He is waiting for his turn. Let him stand, observe and learn.
