The offense is light years ahead of where it was pre-Cam.
Based on what?
I don't doubt that our game plan was more vanilla tonight than it will be going forward. But we didn't execute even base plays.
If Stud/Crowton were still on staff they would be getting all kinds of grief tonight. For my part, I think our O has some serious issues.

looked like a goal line O every running play
Also, we must've been watching a different game.

Really, just think about it for a minute or so...maybe it will come to you.
Never said it was a "vaunted" defense, so don't put words in my mouth. It's a good defense with a lot of returning starters who play the pass pretty well. Therefore, they could load the box and pretty much take away our passing game since A) Again, they play the pass well and B) Our passing game isn't the greatest in the world.

The coaches have clarified this COUNTLESS times.
CAM THE OC calls the plays.
Les will chime in with a specific plays every now and then (fake punt, etc) and he can veto a play, but Cam calls the plays.

Their defense wastalked about all week. Its their strength.
They held wake Forrest to 94 yards snd 10 points. Wake has scored23/24 2 games since.

Coming into the game they were 19th best in total defense.
Edit to add: They are tied at 19. LSU was 17 and Wisconsin was 18.

We will see what that defense does in their conference.
I don't care that we only scored 31 but I'm not going to act like we accomplished anything offensively either . I doubt the coaches are satisfied with our performance tonite also. It is a bit concerning that we can't pound on smaller lines...wouldn't you agree? Not many big holes for our backs. Not sure if it's a motivation issue and they will turn it on in conference but considering the line was the strength of our team it hasn't looked like it to this point.

I really don't think Les wants to embarrass a in state school. If they would've scored more on the plays they ran so be it. I don't think he wanted to get to fancy all it was about was securing victory!!! ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Icongeauxtigers.png)

Gardner Webb held them to 117 yds rushing. WF sucks.

Hanagriff probably explained the approach on O tonight as well as anyone - low risk, low reward against a team like ULM.
IMO, this was a golden opportunity to prove that we can throw the ball against a D who "play the pass pretty well."

My God...
Nobody is saying that we're all smoking cigars and kicking back.
ULM has a good defense, and we did pound on their line. They had the 9th best run D coming onto the game, and we ran for 219 yards against them and 4 TD's, while running an incredibly basic offense.
I think we'll all have a much better idea where we are this time next week.

And 387 yards total offense...in todays pass happy game ulm holding any power 5 conf teamto under 100 total yards is a good game

Passing yards only matter when LSU isn't getting enough.

I wonder if a team has ever been on both sides of the <100 yards offense in a game during a season before?
Posted on 9/14/14 at 12:42 am to fightingtiger2335
I thought it was rushing not total yds

the point spread was 31 , lsu won 31-0 ...
what would they have accomplished by throwing the ball all night ....
im not a coach , but I would gather they went into tonight's game with a mission to work on some things that they felt needed work ...
they stacked the box against us , im sure if they wanted to they could have opened it up ...
lets put our trust in the coaching staff , they are the professionals.....
