So what is opinions of the new numbers painted on the field?

Mine, comes off as being lazy because no doubt they can paint these a lot faster. I don’t really care but the traditional numbers looked better.

Anyone have a side by side comparison of the two? I barely noticed any difference.

what was the difference?

A little jarring at first, TBH. But unless it's something really whacky, then whatever.

How are these faster to paint?

I thought I read somewhere it was “58 Font” or something like that to honor the 1958 football team.

Old, rounded numbers
New numbers that match the jersey font

I noticed the fonts(numbers) were different immidiately

It’s a tribute to the 1958 team. All angles are at a 58 degree angle. It’s not that big of a deal

I hate them. Don’t mess with the classic parts of tiger stadium.
ETA: they don’t look bad per se. I’m just a sucker for tradition and we’ve had those number fonts for decades. There wasn’t anything wrong with them.

Kind of funny they say it’s a tribute to the 1958 team. We’ve been using those jersey numbers since 2013 and I hadn’t heard that until this year. I wonder if they were justifying after the fact. Ole miss also used those numbers for at least a while. Weird for our biggest rival from that era to use jersey numbers that are a tribute to LSU.

Knowing that we have people in the fan base that complain about a subtle font change, if I worked at LSU, I would do something like this every week just to constantly upset people who are this uptight, it would be an absolute pleasure.

Its nothing to complain about. I honestly wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't brought to my attention.

Didn't notice until you just pointed out, so I guess it didn't bother me.

Huh? You think it takes longer because they used a different template?

Hate the number change. Never liked that font for the jersey numbers, either.
