You just learned that? I’m gonna let you in on a secret. Football players don’t care about the school either.

LSU is a flyover program in basketball. Recruits aren't growing up wanting to wear the purple and gold.

Lol so you really thought kids come to LSU to get to live In Baton Rouge and wear purple?

No matter the sport?

Recruiting is important. Coaches who recruit well win.

Players go to play for coaches.

As it has been since like forever.

You expect kids to stay after a Coach cheated and the school is most likely can't play in the tournament for maybe 2 years??

I don’t believe we had any La. HS kids on scholarship. Many were transfers from other schools. Several were here for one season.

It was very low before NIL. Now the interest in the school is so low the kid probably knows zero the schools on his list.

It wasn't this way in the 80's and 90's.

But now, absolutely

And it's not just basketball

Do you have any idea how stupid Wade was with how he handled running the program. Go watch The Scheme on HBO. Most schools do it. Wade was just in over his head. He screwed over this program.

Todays kids don’t come for love of school. They come for the highest pay day and biggest sacks of promises. The schools with the best network of bagmen are what win titles in todays money sports.

Nothing else reels in the top guys like cash and incentives.

I have season tickets to 4 LSU sports and attend regularly. LSU MBB is my favorite. I really liked Will Wade as our HC and I am not "over it" just yet. But, my wife and I will be in our seats come November and support whatever team McMahon can put together. The bottom line is that I am an LSU fan.

This past season's team gave it all for the team during 21-22. Saying they do not GAF now is not what I observed all season. Indeed, they DID GAF. But college players follow their head coach. And, regardless of the circumstances, LSUAD fired these guys' coach.

Great post. Was in Niceville and watched Days make the rounds to LSU fans after winning the tournament and saying “thank you for being here to support us” and you could see that he was genuinely humbled and thrilled to have the support.

Every player to a man stopped, high five the kids that made the trip, took pictures and signed autographs. Don’t make this BS statement that they didn’t care about the school or fans. Whether you agree with it or not, these kids saw the AD can their coach on the eve of the NCAAT, a 20-22 year old version of me would question any loyalty to that athletic department.

These are kids. We have grown arse "adults" who don't understand why we had to let WW go. We can't expect these kids to understand.

I am 100 percent sure the guys love playing for the fans.

They are scared of the unknown. They probably listen and hear and see the fans threating to not come to games next year because they are mad at the AD. They don't know if we will be banned for tournament for a year or two or not at all. They want to play in the spotlight in front of large numbers and no one can tell them if they will be able to do that.

Whatever the penalties are... the NCAA just needs to hand them out and be done with it.

It's not fair to these kids to have this hanging over their heads. If they feel the best thing is to make a move, best time to do it is now.
