Who cares what ULL wants to call themselves? Why does it bother you so much? Do you honestly think someone will see UL and confuse them for being the flagship university of the state? Let it go. You’ll live a much happier life.

No, and that's the point. It's amazing to see how people waste their energy on this to care so much as if UL will somehow steal LSU's thunder because of their brand.

because they feel like using a Direction in their school name makes it sound like an inferior product.
You know , like University of Southern California.
They also think that attaching your city name to the school just as "small time" as having a direction.

most of those other states have in-state rivalries that are on at least somewhat equal footing.
meaning both schools are power 4. And they play each other every year in every sport.
