I’m usually with you negas, but you’d have to be blind to say that you saw no improvement on offense. Besides Southeastern, it’s the best they’ve played all year. They’ve got to get rid of the turnovers especially in the red zone and the offensive line needs to improve a lot more, but they blocked better last night. They were able to run last night and Nuss had more time to throw than he let on.

It wasn’t spectacular by any means, but finally, it’s something they can build off of.

Having watched the game again today, I'd say they were worse, especially in the first half. They cannot score.

So fumbles and interceptions are your notion of improvement?

Thanks for NOT reading my post. I NEVER said fumbles and interceptions are SIGNS of improvement. What I said was moving the ball to the brink of scoring IS vast improvement. Guess you love 3 and outs huh?

Statistics were better, but didn’t produce more points.

The offense is supposed to score points. They did not do that. Those stats are what losers point to. Just the truth man.

However, having to kick a field goal after having a first and goal inside the one was just awful.

I think we see a throw to Green on 3rd down there if they trusted Nuss at that point. After the previous pick, I don’t think they did. Still should have had better play calls on 2nd and 3rd downs.

I saw flashes of improvement, but overall, they just are not on the same page.

Either, it is terrible play call, or a terrible interception, or terrible blocking, or terrible dropped passes, or a terrible penalty.

It is like the QB, OC, OL, WR don't trust each other and therefore have no confidence which leads to those "terrible" things I just mentioned.

I’ve been as critical of the offense as anyone on here. They DID show improvement. It wasn’t great by any means. But it was improved. The running attack was better. They used the big mismatch Green creates. I still don’t understand why the passing game doesn’t attack the middle of the field with crossing routes more (you saw what happened on one of the few occasions they did—43 yard TD), and you can’t ignore the goal line turnovers, but overall, the approach was improved

I have been surprised about the lack of crossing routes and slant passes myself. Good point. The ONLY counter argument I can give is I don't think Nussmeier reads/scans the field very well. McElroy mentioned that in the Ole Miss game, and certainly that INT on the 1 yard line was a hideous misread of the defense.

I assume you probably remember Jarrett Lee the LSU QB of about 15 years ago. They kept his passes either long or around the sidelines. He didn't throw short to medium passes over the middle because he couldn't read defenses. His passing zone from the LOS was basically an upside down U. Oh, and Nussmeier's other INT was a pass over the middle where he overthrew it.

What difference does it make if the offense does not score?

Huh? It makes a hell of a lot of difference. South Carolina didn't run 50 offensive plays in the 1st half like Ole Miss literally did vs LSU because LSU went 3 and out a bunch of times. LSU's defense was worn down vs OM because they were on the field most of the game.

The offense is just a mob. Nothing more.

So by "poorly thrown" you mean past the defender and right in the bread basket of Hilton?

Thanks for the sarcastic laugh. But I can't take credit. I guess you never listen to NFL or college coaches when one of their main strategies to win a game is to keep the OTHER team's offense off the field. YOU move the ball and that accomplishes that goal.

The better statement was there was some improvement but terrible RZ execution by Nuss, OL and Johnson giving away 17points and a lot of momentum.
The OL in general has no upfield push

Stopped reading right there.

so you noticed a vast improvement by the offense, right?

the cocks were given every opportunity to win this game because of this decrepit offense. did you even notice the turnovers?

That was really my point but if you want to word it differently, that is fine. And yes, the OL in general has no upfield push on running plays. If you notice the plays that work are the ones where the opponent either overpursues or is fooled. The Clemson game is a perfect example. In that game, Clemson never solved LSU bringing in WR such as Thomas in motion and Nussmeier time and time again handing off to him or others to run the ball between the tackles. Clemson never had an answer for that. The WRers were running better at the same spots in the LOS than the RBs were.

Aside from some very fixable mistakes, I thought the offense looked much better at times. That three and out in the 2nd half with three poorly designed runs did make me mad.
