This whole thing is political right now. O needs desperately for McMillan not to transfer bc he wants Brennan to read shirt and doesn’t want to be left with LN as his number 2 guy, as someone who hasn’t played significant football in almost 3 years.

The guy could not see the field before this spring. We went out and begged Burrow to come in and be the savior because we had no one else the coaches thought could make us competitive.

correct.

McMillan's been here for years and was never a threat to see the field. But now, all of a sudden, he's in the mix to start. Why is that? Because he got a lot better?

No, it's because our other 2 QBs aren't SEC QBs at this time, so McMillan looks decent, but only by comparison.

The spring game was bad - that's why O went out desperately seeking a legit QB.

Now if, for some reason, Burrow sucks and doesn't start, then we're in deep, deep trouble. You just have to admit that.

Absolutely nothing. But he will be the starter against Miami.

I really don't think Brennan will ever see significant snaps at LSU. I could be way off but I think that weak competition in high school was fools gold.
this is correct. The whole "weight" excuse is just that - an excuse.

If ever there was a scenario for Brennan to grab the starting spot, this spring was it. And he didn't do it, and apparently didn't really come close.

Usually (but not always) a guy with the "it" factor shows it quickly. Sure, Brennan can develop more, but the improvement will only be marginal - it won't turn him into a stud.

I agree with this poster - Brennan won't ever see significant PT here. He had his chance this year and wasn't up to the task. He'll transfer.

McMillan will stay - if his goal was to play, he'd have transferred years ago.

How so??? If he, and its a big IF, but if he beats out Burrow for the starting spot. How can you not respect it. All eyes are on this competition so if he wins that means that he's won over the players and staff.

Since we are playing "Guess The Future" which if any of us really could we would be heading to Vegas about now, I will throw in my stupid guess. Since O said Narcisse looked like a linebacker and he liked the way he ran, he will be the designated running quarterback and will run the Wildcat and maybe some option plays. Burrow starts and is good but not great. Sort of like Danny Etling on steroids. McMillan finally sees the light and transfers. Brennan will try to redshirt but may need to play in case of injuries.

Give me Brennan and Narcisse over McMillian

Why? What have either of those two done to make you think they are better? They have more name recognition and were more highly regarded coming in, but that means little. Ron Powlus was going to win multiple Heismans based on his name and HS accomplishments.

McMillan may not be the answer by there’s no reason he can’t be the best of the 3. My limited inside info indicates he pretty clearly was in the spring. Maybe he’s isn’t, but he seems to be dismissed here based on... nothing.

Brennan redshirts. McMillan competes, Burrow wins the job, and McMillan probably toughs it out to get occasional playing time in certain packages—or transfers. Brennan and narcisse tear it up their last two years or narcisse transfers.

Makes sense. Burrow was brought in with the expectation he was better than what we had on roster (with their experience/development level as of spring game) and following the spring game McMillan led by hair with Brennen looking uncomfortable and several issues for Narcisse (accuracy, snaps).

Nice. I think even the new redshirt rules will allow him to get at least a little game time this year without burning it.

You’re a f..ing idiot. Brennan is in the top 5 probstyle QBs in the country in 2017. He competed against incredible talent at the AL/MS all star and the UA all American game and excelled. He competed in Elite11 and made it to the finals against the Best competition in the country. Let’s look at some of the other QBs in that Nike Finals class:
Jake Fromm
Tua Tagliovia
Kellend Mond
Hunter Johnson
Tate Martel
Dylan Mcafrey
Davis Mills
and others that mostly redshirted last year other than the obvious. I guess all those other 11 best QBs in the country that did not play last year also suck! Look Brennan beat out every other QB at LSU to be the back up in the system that was being run by Canada. Brennan will be a star at LSU when it’s his time.
