Because people don't know how much of an effect public bashing of an official like that matters, and, because a lot of Alleva's job is hidden behind numbers. If someone could pull that together and prove Alleva is bad at his job, because his W/L is Revenue straight up, I'm sure we could hash that up and down the block.

It's some funny shite to see a Les basher 24-7 now claim they didn't take every shot they could.

These are normally the same guys who complain now about the O bitching.

Ten wins was under achieving two years ago, but now nine or eight wins is a good season.

The goal post keep on moving!

Hiring Ensminger is not a good move.

He ended the season 3-2 after November with 3 games against teams that went a combined 15-24 and 3/3 in firing their HC

He also fired the OC, and missed on a huge prospect on the way to finishing with a recruiting class outside the top 10.

That’s not momentum.

OK how did LSU do in the last two years before that??????

---------------------------------------------------------

That's not the issue - we are attempting to assess whether our current Offensive Coordinator can bring to the table a competitive SEC West Offense akin to what we'd expect from "the best coordinator that can be obtained" [as that is exactly what was promised by Orgeron when he was hired] That was also done AFTER Emsminger had done his gig as interim OC - only.

He ran all over shitty teams with A healthy Darrius Guice.

He didn’t run a spreadnoffense based on RPOs. He barely did anything different than we did in 2015z

This issue is people are co fusing better than less in 2016 with good.

We didn’t fire a les for being a good coach in 2016. That offense was fricking trash.

But that doesn’t make E and O amazing for running all over Missouri. We were like a top 5 preseason team.

During the season.....there were plenty of fk ups to address...not that you would have noticed. That would have required you to pull your head out of Miles arse.

saban wasn't available and if you had the same credentials and abilities as Orgeron and were hired as HC and had just been a interim HC at LSU and had done the same as Orgeron did in that stint and had a 9-4 season your first season and had made the same offseason decisions and done exactly what Orgeron has done so far in both recruiting and transfers and had the same personal personality and player likeability that Orgeron has, I would say lets see what you have in season 2 before coming to any decision on your ability to lead this team. If you showed marked improvement in season 2, I would say lets see what you have in season 3.

whether I liked the hire or not, no matter who the coach was, once he was hired, I would take a 'show me' approach. Do good things with the program and I'll get behind you, f it up, and I would join the chorus to fire you.

I really don't think Fedora would have been a good hire, But once he was hired I would sit back and give him a legitimate shot to see what he could do. If he went 9-4 in season one, I would want to see what he could do in season two. One thing I wouldn't be doing is tearing him apart on a forum wishing for his downfall or acting like his failure is guaranteed after he went 9-4 (or had the best SEC record in many years) in his first season.

edit: but to each his own. I'm going to be backing LSU (thus Orgeron) this coming season, pulling for them just as hard as ever.

I don't know what ya'll that know with such certainty that LSU (with this god awefull idiot for a coach) is going to get crushed this season are going to be doing

I guess ya'll figure you're in a win/win situation. If LSU has a bad season you can say "I told you so". If they have a good season you can say "Hell yea, I'm a LSU fan".

Your definition of doing good things with the program is having a record worse than the fired coach’s average? Firing your OC because you couldn’t get along and promoting retread Ensminger? Historic losses to Troy and MSU? Lying repeatedly about letting your coaches coach and hiring the best coordinator? Having the worst recruiting class in over 15 years?

it was his first season as HC at LSU and they went 9-4. Coach Miles had gone 8-5 and 9-3 and was off to a 2-2 start before Coach O took over. Coach O did have the best SEC record LSU has had in many years. I want to see how he does in season 2.

Everyone thought hiring Canada was a good thing at the time. But you could see it was a rushed hire to get "the best coordinator" on board. Was a mistake but he corrected it. I liked what I have seen of Ensminger in the interim period and like the direction he wants to bring the offense. I like that hire.

quote:

Historic losses to Troy and MSU?
yes that was bad. Saban lost to ULM (honest question: is ULM a better program than Troy) and losses games just about every year to teams they have far more talent than. I like the way once the players that had been out got back on the field and the freshman olineman started getting up to speed, the team was able to turn it around after a lot of the fan base had written them off and said they would lose every remaining game. Showed a lot of grit (a reflection of their coach no doubt).

quote:

Lying repeatedly about letting your coaches coach and hiring the best coordinator?[/quote He had to step in after the way the offense opened the season so out of sync and confused looking. Everyone knew the players weren't grasping the offense and that it needed to be simplified at that time. Good thing he did because the offense got much better after that.

[quote]hiring the best coordinator?
He tried to please the fans with that at first by hiring Canada, now he has hired who he really believes is the best coordinator for the program and a big f u to the fans while he was at it. Very cool.

I like the recruiting class, plenty of beef. Plus with the additions of transfer Fehoko, Giles, and the kicker, it's even better.

but none of that really matters. It's just opinions. What really matters is how they perform on the field this season. I personally can't wait and am awaiting the kickoff of the season against Miami with eager anticipation just to see what we really have. I want to see us get off to a good start. What do you want?

Some spread, some power I, some no back formations, still going to have some motion. We will be a team strong in the running game, and we will be heavy to the pass. We will keep them guessing. We comin... I really do have something I add to my gumbo that is unique.

The eternal optimist. I can respect that. I'd like to see you be able to separate objectivity from not being as big of a fan as the optimists, but I certainly respect your position and the fact that you are afraid to engage in a true discussion. Can't say the same about most of the others.

it's going to be a combination of the Louisiana west bank offense combined with the Gulf coast offense. west coast.

pro west coast (gulf coast) style with spread elements and motion and RPO's, like what the Saints run these days but less complex for the college game. Modern pro style which means play to your strengths, don't be predictable, keep the defense off balance, take what the defense is giving, and do what works.

Sounds great in theory and it's my favorite style of football. Let's just hope the coaches know how to communicate it to the players.

and I can respect that, even though you don't agree with me, are at least open minded to the possibility that LSU might be good this season (though you don't expect it, but that's ok) unlike a lot of the more negative types. Plus you seem to want to see LSU have a good season and will no doubt be pulling for the Tigers.
