some of you are delusional with your SEC bullshite. you really think 08 OU would lose 4 games? to who exactly? did you not see them go toe to toe with UF, they would have beaten any other SEC team that year

I have been a proponent on TD of LSU going after Stoops first should they ever need a head coach. I believe Stoops would bring back organization to the Tigers that it sometimes appears to lack. I believe Stoops to be a proven HC and he has SEC experience and his D would rival that of $abun's.

I ve said it many times. Bama went out and bought a proven HC I believe LSU should try to do the same. I know many here believe Stoops would not leave OU but after $abun went to bama anything is possible and worth a shot. JMO

I've always thought Stoops was a good coach, but I don't think it's completely unreasonable to compare him to CLM. He and Mack Brown are a hell of lot closer to Miles than they are to Saban or Meyer. Oklahoma would probably drop 4 games a year in the SEC.

My dad is an OU fan and believes, like many of his fellow fans that Stoops has insane talent and very little fire in the belly. He is too complacent.

they lost by ONE less point than Alabama. Pretty sure you can't sit there and say they would have definitely beaten Bama.

I watched the game. Florida controlled it. I've also watched them lose five of their last seven bowl games. And the SEC is a better conference than the Big 12. That's a fact.

ETA: And 4 a year may be a stretch.

Actually, nah. He'd probably lose to Bama and Florida routinely, then drop one to either us or Georgia, then lose a fluke game to Miss State or Carolina. Then lose his bowl game.

No, but Miles wished he was the old Bob Stoops. Here is the tale of the tape:

Miles:
In 9 seasons as a head coach, he finished better than 5-3 in conference three times - the first three seasons after saban. Finished first in conference 2 of 9 seasons.

Stoops
In 11 seasons as head coach, all at OU, finished better than 5-3 in 9 of 11 seasons. 5-3 represents his worse in conference effort.
Finished first or tied for first in 7 of 11 seasons, inlcuding 3 of the last 4.

I love how I'm retarded cause I think Bob Stoops is a joke.........then I back it up with all his recent lopsided loses and get a bunch of rationalization as to why it happened.......

The fact of the matter is that I don't think Bob Stoops or Les Miles are currently top 5 coaches......if you disagree good for you....

I'm not knighting for Miles, he has had his fair share of frickups........but Bob Stoops is trying his best to beat him, he just sounds prettier doing it.

its funny how happy you get that the "other" SEC teams do well while your program seems to be regressing. why the hell does it excite you that the other teams do well anyway? does LSU also get a trophy when someone else in the SEC wins? its hilarious how you guys root for your rivals

I am not arguing with your assertion that Stoops is overrated in the clutch. However, when it comes to player development (see 3 round 1 picks) and consistently being competitive in your conference, Miles is not even in the same zip code as Stoops.

yeah, like the great usc team that got beat by stanford (I believe they were 4-8 that year! Largest point spread upset in college football history! Doesn't that make you feel special! Kept you out of the BCS, AGAIN! Just like a 2003 loss to an 8-6 Cal team, and a 2006 loss to a 7-6 UCLA team!) By the way, what's USC's record against Bama? I believe its 2-5! Go figure!
