got me thinking last night with 3 of the first 4 picks. He had all that talent and went 8-5. Sounds to me like he can't develop talent.
Thoughts.

Just shows how important it is to have a good QB on the field.

26 TDs and 14 ints is good, but not in the same ballpark as Bradford's 50 TDs and 8 ints in 2008.

To go 10-2 or 9-3 sure........but 8-5........Stoops is a joke.....he has more big game loses than any coach in the country, his team had 4 first round picks 2 of which played in every game and were ancors of the OL and DL..........and they only won 8 games..........

In a Michael Irvin voice..........COME ON MAN.

At least Les won a National Championship with all of his talent.

I've always thought Stoops was a good coach, but I don't think it's completely unreasonable to compare him to CLM. He and Mack Brown are a hell of lot closer to Miles than they are to Saban or Meyer. Oklahoma would probably drop 4 games a year in the SEC.

Good coach with some flaws. At least Les typically wins the bowl game.

So is not having a legitimate QB an acceptable excuse for a coach to have an 8-5 season?

So did Bob Stoops.

And he's been back to the title game three other times.

People who say Bob Stoops is not a good coach are bigger morons than Miles apologists.

Then again, they are probably one and the same.

he was terrible compared to Bradford. Don't look at overall numbers, look at individual games.

Stoops is a good coach, but I'd love to see him in the SEC. He wouldn't have been in those NCGs to lose them.

A good coach is a good coach. If he wins at Oklahoma, he can win in the SEC.

Are yall ignoring what Stoops has done prior to this 8-5 fiasco?

He got skull fricked by USC in a championship game, LSU dominated em to a point where I think they had 24 yards at half.......Blew a 17 point lead to Boise State, got pounded again by West Virgina by 17 or something.......

Went 8-5 this year with a productive backup qb and a running game that was much more solid than people give credit for........

Stoops is a joke.......If you want to clown Les Miles and put him on the hotseat than we have to make fun of Bob too or we are creating a double standard.

I'm just saying Les has a 51-15 record over the last 5 seasons.......which is probably the same as Stoops with a National title in the last 5 years and a waaaaaaaaay more dominate bowl resume.......not to mention a 2-2 record against him with OSU scraps.

Can't avoid injuries.

Is not recruiting a legitimate QB an acceptable excuse?
