That’s my exact infield if everyone’s healthy.

Who is your DH?

Cabell or Bryce. I think 1B and DH are the only places a Freshman cracks the lineup assuming our OF stays intact.

No Garza? I think we see a freshman DH and 1b. Garza at 1st and Cabell at DH.
I don't think Bryce has a starting spot if he stays.
Change my mind.

Exactly. Didn’t Broussard have one of the highest averages in the starting lineup when he got hurt?

Who was that boney little skeleton of a dude who happened to wear same # as Ryan Perrilloux during the SECCG? Got a cameo because of it. That'd so be me on the sideline owning it for 4 years.

With the depth of the bullpen next year, what about Storz at DH instead? It would be nice to have a power hitter back in the lineup. Definitely liking the looks of our Tigers for next season.

Storz has a lot of power but his ability to make contact just isn’t there. If he gets healthy enough to swing a bat during the summer I would be interested in seeing what kind of progress he makes.

Hey guys.....the intangible Broussard adds is the speed.

Storz is going to make his career as a pitcher. Cabell is too good of a hitter to sit for someone as raw as Storz. Especially when Garza has similar power but much more average potential

Still doesn’t make him Cole fricking Freeman! Some of you are delusional. Cole was one of the best table setters I’ve seen at LSU.
Tough as nails, as well. Committed and loyal to his team.
To compare Broussard to Cole Freeman is laughable at this point in their careers. Cole already had an All American title to his name at this point.
Sorry. I just don’t see it. But we can hope, I guess.

Great thread.
Those writing Hughes and Broussard off are ignorant. Broussard has already shown he can be a capable hitter before the injury. Both are solid defensively. Have we forgotten other former players who have made large strides with the bat from one season to the next?
Difference between next season and this past will be that there will be some more capable back ups to plug in if things aren't working.
Why are we avoiding the catchers position? Everything else has been touched on here, except that. I don't know a ton about the incoming catchers, but I'm not ready to give up on Fedduci yet either. If those newcomers are much much better then maybe Fedduci gets advised to take whatever he gets in the draft. If not, I don't think he is someone that gets pushed out the door. He showed flashes with his bat, and was solid earlier catching (like Broussard, the injury played a role in his struggles).

Because I can't even begin to guess wtf is going to happen there

It is a cluster. Will Fed even be on the team? Will a fresh catch on? Way too many questions to even guess on that one.

I don't see Hughes starting at all next year. He can compete with Broussard for second at best but this team can't afford to have them both in the lineup. Broussard was doing fine hitting before the injury but that may have a lot to do with most of his at bats were against non SEC competition and weaker teams. He came back later during SEC and post season play and struggled. He should of been fully recovered when he returned

If you're only starting to feel confident that means you're not totally confident. Not good.
