and they have some reporter on from the media days. hes a writer for b'ham newspaper. when LSU was brought up, he began bashin miles. it was pretty ridiculous. im not big on the "lets get mad at everybody who bashes lsu" but this dude sounded stupid. he started sayin that miles is a big doofus. he said he never looks comfortable. he thinks miles is the sec's version of larry coker b/c hes winning with somebody elses talent and isnt comfortable. he said he thinks we will be good this year but in a year or 2 we'll see that miles isnt what people think. am i the only one who thinks this is ridiculous???
he also mentioned he was a UGA grad. so im sure hes still bitter they got "hosed" out of the NC.

meh. I will start comparing les miles to coker if he starts running the program into the ground.
This will be his fourth year, it is about time the "someone else's players" excuse gets retired.

I agree with this. Miles is not what most people think, since most seem to think like this moron.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter who's players you are winning with... just that you are winning.
Time will tell how he does but anything else now is just the other teams hoping.

Ray Melick. Not a real bright guy. He was the UAT beat writer for the now defunct Birmingham Post-Herald for about 20 yrs,so he just thinks everyone is in love with 'Bama/Saban.

Miles has upgraded the talent since he arrived.

That's fine and dandy, but Miles has continued to haul in monster classes since he got here. Truth is, first thing's first...bring in talent, THEN coah 'em up. Miles has continued to bring in top notch talent, so the cupboard is jst as full as when he got here.
Point being, if Miles is such a boob that he can ONLY win when he has tons of talent, then he's clearly doing what's necessary to keep his boob self winning...which at the end of the day is the whole point. The suggestion that he'll suddenly start to lose makes no sense, and would ONLY make sense if you could point to some drop off in talent...and there isn't any.
Unless the stupid suggestion is that Saban's top ranked recruiting classes are somehow superior to Miles' top ranked recruiting classes the point has no merit.

I love it!!!
I have waited all of my life for LSU to have an "enemy" for a HC.
I thought Saban could be it, until Franchionne handled him.
Now we got us a guy others have to make fun of, even though he beats em all!!!!

Time has already been told, have u looked at LSU's recruting class this year.
Posted on 7/23/08 at 2:05 pm to Cody101786
Does it really matter who recruited who when Miles flopped his nuts on the table and went for it on fourth down (like 27 times) in the Florida game last year? Pretty sure Saban had zero to do with making those calls.

I'm just saying people liked Coker a lot at first too. I know everyone loves Miles now but coaching is a tough job. I'm not stating he's not a good head coach... I'm just pointing out that fans can turn on a guy very quickly.
Charlie Weis was the lord and savior of ND a couple years ago. Last year he was a punchline. I think he'll rebound but he's been bringing in great classes so that obviously hasn't been the issue.
Whether you think Les will be great or bad... the proof will be on the field.

Unimaginative people stick to the template.
Don't allow the conventional "wisdom" of the uninformed to rile you. Just point at the scoreboard and smile.

Kevin Scarbinsky(sp) had a great article that was linked here earlier today that stated very correctly that Les has had more success with "Sabans players" than Saban did.
The talent we have coming in is going to keep us on top for quite a while.
The 2009 class could be the best in the history of the school.
Those that underestimate Miles will learn the error of their ways very soon.
