I can find 2 different coaches that have better win percentages at schools on par with okieState that had similar win losses to before Miles arrived.
Did they want to come here? Who were they?

Stick to the Poli Board where your flames are more obvious.

based on what?
How did he recruit at OSU?

This is an asinine statement.

The gap between Saban and everyone else has made good coaches look worse than they are. And no one has felt that sting more than LSU fans, because Saban used to be LSU's coach. Plain and simple. And understandable.
This is why everyone is so up in arms about it. And it's quite sad. He may be the best coach that ever lived, and our coach is 3-5 against him.
Look at what everyone else's record is. Much, much worse.

Alright, that's fine. If you look strictly at his recruiting skills, I think he's the best recruiting head coach.
I never said he was the best coach. I think his recruiting skills shine brighter, because he still gets top 10 classes despite having to answer for all of his in game mistakes.

The whole point of this thread is that LSU apparently had coaches that wanted to come here and would have apparently done better. Unfortunately, they were stiff armed for the sake of hiring Miles. I sincerely want to see something that supports this.

The only two I can think of off the top of my head that wanted the job at the time were Del Rio and Petrino.
Del Rio? Don't know how that would've worked out.
Petrino? Thank God he acted like a douche in his interview. I feel certain we all know how THAT would've panned out.

I could've swore Del Rio didn't want to come, but could be wrong.
Eh, not sure if the exact same events at Arkansas would've replicated at LSU, but I'm assuming if Petrino were here according to Cpt, LSU would have won the NC the last two seasons.

Bret Bieliema is out recruiting Petrino at this point. Half of Alabama's roster would be filled with Louisiana recruits if that loser was at LSU.

As I recall, there was some sort of misunderstanding with Del Rio. He and Skip were supposed to meet and one of them stood the other up?
Petrino? A douche is a douche no matter where he's at. Would not have ended well for us.

Del Rio was still corching the Jiguars in the playoffs, skip wouldn't wait.

He has to be a better coach than miles right? He took that program to another level since taking over.

This is where Arnsparger's corrective is helpful: we don't have to settle for 2nd place. We can and should play for championships.

Osu didn't have a program before miles. They were no where near lsu. It was darker than the dark ages.
Why would we fire miles just to replace him with an unproven coach? The list of available coaches when saban left wasn't long.
Plus why fire a guy that has proven he can't beat saban. No matter who we hire, they have to recruit and play against saban every year. Why not keep the guy that's been doing better than anyone else in the country in regards to that?
