The fact that you’re talking about him is worth a couple of million dollars

When someone mentions Wade, all his fans get out the hand lotion and make believe he's going to do something in March, but he's 1 and done as always

Wade was always middle of the road, maybe slightly better, even at LSU. I can’t understand the infatuation with him. I never could.

.

From 1994-2017, 23 years, LSU had 10 losing seasons. Something that is pretty difficult to do in basketball given 1/3rd of the schedule is against inferior competition. LSU reached 6 NCAA Tournaments...in 23 years.

In 2018 Wade took over a program that had gone 10-21 (2-16). It was the fewest wins LSU had in a season in 20 years. In terms of winning % (.323) it was the WORST season LSU had in 50 years. In his first season, without the benefit of the transfer rules, Wade improved the year to year win total by 8 games. It would be the second time he took a team with a losing record the year before and turn them into a winning team in year 1. It wouldn't be the last. He would do it again two more times at McNeese and NC State.

At LSU he never had a losing season in 5 years. He won the SEC in year two and led LSU to highest seed in the NCAA Tournament (3) since 1980...a period of nearly 40 years. A tournament the admin did not let him coach. He made 3 straight NCAA Tournaments which would have been 4 had the 2020 tournament not been canceled. That means in 5 years he would have reached nearly as many NCAA Tournaments as 3 LSU HCs did in the 23 years prior. He has the highest career winning % at LSU of any coach since '13-'18....1913-1918. Nationally, he is in the top 15 in winning % of any active HC with at least 6 years of D1 service.

Comparatively, Wade's successor has the lowest overall winning % at LSU in 50+ years. He has the lowest SEC winning % at LSU...ever. He has the fewest SEC wins over the last 4 seasons (excluding Tex and OU). He has not made a single NCAA Tournament in 4 years...the only SEC program to accomplish that dubious feat.

Do you understand now why LSU basketball fans would like to see that guy return? Or, are you just one of the many who isn't an LSU basketball fan, has little knowledge of the history of LSU basketball for the last (nearly) 40 years, let alone college basketball in general, yet still feels compelled to display such ignorance anyway?

Yeh heavan forbid us even wanting to sniff a tournament invite.

ETA take a look at some of the teams in the NIT. We don't even have a program as good as theirs right now.

Oh boy. There is so much wrong here, where do you even start?

can’t get there with benefit of an actual basketball school.

Solid point. McNeese is a known basketball power.

NC State isn't even a basketball power. Calling them such, or even a "basketball school", just illustrates the ignorance of LSU fans.

For such a highly acclaimed "basketball school" isn't it a bit odd that in the 10 years prior to this season NC State only reached 3 NCAA Tournaments...one of which ONLY because they won the ACC Tournament as a 10 seed. For those keeping score at home, three is the same amount of Tournaments Wade reached in that same time period at LSU, alone.
