So does this BB hire get Aleva off the hot seat here on the rant?

I'm betting that the rant will overwhelmingly say say that he still sucks and needs to go (that's how I feel at least), but am wondering if the hire changed any of your minds about him? Maybe he surprised you that he made an informed decision?

No fricking way why in the hell would it? He got lucky he hired the cheapest guy he just happened to be good but that was never a factor the price was the only factor.

The deal hasn't been announced it's reported to be between 2 and 2.5 per which is what we expected.

If it's 2.5 then he would be the third highest paid coach in the SEC. I mean they didn't break the bank, but they didn't go super cheap if that's the case.

There's not one sport that LSU is competing for a national championship. Maybe baseball, maybe. There's legit reasons to be unsatisfied with Joe.

2.5 wouldn't have landed Crean or Musselman the only other candidate that was a real possibility was Wade. He went for 2.5 the cheapest. I dunno why that's insulting but it's a fact.

I didn't want Crean so that's fine. And Musselman makes less than $500K at Nevada, hard to believe that $2.5 wouldn't have been enough.

Alleva got lucky that a good candidate saw the potential in LSU. I am glad we got Wade, but Alleva is still a poor AD.

God man get past 2D thinking. Musselman is at his alma matter he's helping them out. He's been an NBA coach he's not an idiot and there's noway in hell he comes to LSU for 2mil.
