Bradford was used a ton and he started some games but I wouldn't call him part of the 1/2/3. Brown was pretty much the 3 that season.

Bradford wasn't going to start against Texas Southern anyways so it's not like Mainieri dug deep into his bullpen to throw Brown who had the 3rd most starts.. Unlike if he threw Newman this season.

The thing you would have to worry about with Newman is him running up a big pitch count early before the game is out of reach and possibly using one or more of the top bullpen arms unnecessarily.

I say Glenn and understand why some may say Eades. But it has to be one of those two, imo.

Yeah I don't want to throw Newman first because it seems like he can only throw 50 pitches. If he only goes 4 and the bats are cold and the game is close we'd have to waste big bullpen arms against Jackson State. Glenn will go 7 or 8 and a scrub will close out the game. Or Glenn will pitch 5 and LSU will be up 12-0 and we'll use scrubs to pitch the last 4. But you can't take that chance and hope LSU jumps on them early with Newman on the mound.

I say pitch Cune then Glen and finish up with Nola for 4 innings and Eades to bring it home.

No need to change up what we've been doing, Glenn in game 1, Nola in game 2, Eades in games 3, Newman if necessary for game 4

Isn't it great having this discussion???!!! I love this time of year when the Tigers are in the mix. Fact is that we have so many more options this year than we've had in the past. I don't think that throwing our 4th starter against this 4 seed is that risky this year, but just my opinion.

Start Glenn game 1

He's been hot late in the year but you keep Eades as that #2 guy as he's still got electric stuff vs a better hitting team.

Start Nola game 2

Ace vs the winner of the #2/#3 seed

Start Eades game 3

He's better than almost any #2 guy in the nation and you have to like your chances.

To everyone wanting to start Newman etc...vs Jackson St. there wouldn't be anything wrong with that yet you want to keep Glenn, Nola, and Eades in their groove/normal rotation throwing roughly once a week.

Yeah, plus Nola and Glenn have both gotten a week off recently. I guess you could make an argument to try to not pitch Eades this week to try to rest him for the Super, but he seemed fine last week

Eades really scares me against a team like ULL, but there is no guarantee they will be there

If it's Glenn, Nola, Eades they will all be on 8 days rest.

Yeah that's why I'm not too worried about it

The question to me then, is do we stick with the Glenn/Nola/Eades order for the Super or do we swap Glenn and Nola? It would give Nola a day less rest.

What about the Cune. Cube needs to start the first game. We will need him at the World Series at some point. The extra work will pay dividends down the road.
