Imdo think our fans are hypocritical about this.
Embrace TM7
Hate brad wing
Someone threw jamarcus russell in there with perrilloux, odom, and damian james. Am i missing something? Did he get kicked out of LSU?
And finally, damian james, before his dismissal was a good player

So following TIGERLEE's logic if he were a Florida fan Aaron Hernandez would be welcome on the sidelines and is a true Gator because his transgressions happened after he went pro.

Yeah that's my exact logic!
You cried didn't you went honey badger was relieved of his LSU duties?
So did my 9yr old nephew.

quote:billy Cannon is a convicted felon and actually only went to LSU because a judge wouldn't let him leave the state when he fricked up as a juvenile. When Cannon was mentioned in the thread you said he didn't count because he became a convicted felon while not on the team. I'd say its exactly your logic
Yeah that's my exact logic!

&M
I wouldn't call it a "drug bust"
He wasn't under investigation that led to SWAT teams kicking his door in with search warrants uncovering a meth lab.
Is Warren Sapp welcome back at Miami?? His draft stock plummetted due to his drug use in college.
Dan Marino's cocaine use at Pitt was legendary costing him millions as NFL teams shied away from him because of it. Should Pitt not allow him to watch a game from the sideline if he wants to?
Hell Michael Irvin is a Hurricane legend and I'm pretty sure his drug use didn't start after college
And before you say LSU should hold itself to a higher standard than The U, is Von Miller no longer welcome at A&M given his current suspension from the NFL for violating the substance abuse policy??
This is not an issue for anyone other than you or similar Miles and TM bashers.
He paid for his transgressions by missing an entire year of football. No one without an axe to grind gives a shite anymore.
He's an NFL star now and he'd likely get a huge ovation from the crowd and would without question be welcomed by his former teammates.
Face it, you're being a nerd about this

There you justifying things again... It wasn't a drug bust... Poor guy was just in wrong place wrong time.
It wasn't a repeated rules violation, it was a small vice.
No matter how bad you want me to be I'm not a miles or TM basher.
I just believe it weird, inappropriate, unheard of and plain stupid for a coach to have a player the he himself kicked off the team standing besid him eating grass coole years after the fact...
Whatever though., its typical of you people to have this rational.... The boy crush is too strong.

Dear lord you're out of touch. You refer to a former tiger doing unprecedented things in his rookie year as a boy crush? I'm ashamed to know we have fans like you, especially considering the players you choose to champion. You have no idea how off base you truly are.

so LSU can have his name and pictures all around the football facilities, have him in DBU videoes on lesmiles.net, etc yet he shouldn't be allowed on the sideline?

Miles kicking him off the team was probably the best thing that ever happened to Mathieu. Made him grow up. And so far so good. I see no reason not to let him on the sideline. Had he gone to another school I might not feel that way, but he didn't. He's a tiger. He was a dumbass one, but at this point, he's a tale of redemption and Les Miles and LSU are a big part of it. I think we can embrace him at this point. He's had his time in the wilderness.

Only if you're on the team at the time though right? Most would say Billy Cannon fricked up worse than TM, and yet there his name and number is on full display in Tiger Stadium. (Not saying it shouldn't be btw. That seems more like what your position would be.)
Exactly.
LSU isn't responsible for grown men that happens to be a former player... Especially during another coaches tenure.

Remember the little JJ drug bust he was involved in? Ay chance he had to return he managed to really F it up when that happened.
Wait....I thought if you committed a crime after LSU and stayed with the team through your college career you were fine?

All this and TM7 will probably never be on the sidelines any time in the near future. Maybe after retirement with Miles.

I just don't agree.
How can a guy that got kicked off a team for willing and repeatedly breaking team rules have a place back on the sidelines?
Help me understand this... And please put your personal feelings for the guy on the shelf.
I agree, but he'll be with his current teammates. That's his in. If he was playing for the Seahawks with no other Tigers, then I don't think he'd be let in.
As it stands, he's a great story for LSU. He's gotten us more good PR than anybody in recent memory other than PP7.

Don't tell me he's not a good story. He manned up(so far) and turned his life around... and now kicks all kinds of arse as a rookie in the NFL.
