It’s pretty non sustainable. Basically, every player, on every team is an unrestricted free agent. Every year.

Right after the season then again in the spring.
Basically the whole recruiting class can transfer out 4 months after they arrive on campus. The problem is this absurd transfer portal with virtually no restrictions. Recruiting has been reduced to almost meaningless. Imagine this crazy shite in the NFL with everyone always an unrestricted free agent.

Only if they place a similar rule for coaches too.

Coaches have contracts that charge buyouts if they leave and pay buyouts if they get fired.

I’d be fine with that for players.

They would’ve always done it but they would have had to sit out a year if they transferred in the past

They have to change the portal.

I am trying to figure out how anyone is going to do this. The NCAA agreed to a permanent injunction/consent decree settlement with the US department of justice after a lawsuit was brought alleging that the prior rules were anticompetitive and unreasonably restricted athletes' freedom to transfer. I’m not an antitrust lawyer but maybe it’s still possible for congress to pass an antitrust exemption and then the athletes could form a union and collectively bargain to negotiate terms. Or, depending on how the settlement is worded, colleges can start offering multi-year contracts and maybe some kids would be willing to sign them to guarantee they will
have a scholarship for multiple years in return for mutual commitment or are we headed toward buyout clauses.

Please share what is corrupt? Other than the tampering.

What’s corrupt? This would be like an NFL with no salary caps (enabling big market teams to dominate with unlimited money), no contracts, (basically constant free agency for every player). It’s pure insanity. What’s to prevent a billionaire from funneling millions to players at their favorite school.

Athletes should get only 1 transfer per career where they play immediately. All subsequent transfers ya gotta sit for a year. Break that shite up.

This is America and we live in a free market. If the market wants to pay an unproven player a millions bucks, that’s what the market will do.

Idk why everyone is so up in arms over this.

The fact that this is happening and “fans” are blaming the coach is wild. I have no idea how coaches are dealing with this shite.

Sark had packages for Arch. Some coaches manage their player's expectations and rosters better than others. BK looks like he's trying to figure it out on the sidelines.

Wait until they start entering the portal at half time and playing the 2nd half for the opposite team.

This is about college athletics.

It shouldn't be about pay for play to attend a school when even the pros have a salary cap. It's absolutely madness to keep up with all of this.

You pay an unproven kid out of high school only for him to be gone in a year even if he does play. And often even if he got paid someone else can just swoop in any moment and pay him more.

At least the pros have contracts that help you build a franchise. How can you truly build a program when guys are constantly leaving year to year? It's wild. I'm all for NIL, but not paying the most money to attend different schools. Of course there will always be ways around it now that it's open. And spare me the idea of players were paid under the table. It was never to this level. That was better than this open bidding.

I think it's fine to let all the schools divide up money to their players, but I still hate that it takes the most money to get players to come and then retain them. College might as well be pro and have actual contracts like the NFL does at this rate. College sports has become constant bidding on players.

One of our TEs was going to start.

Didn’t stop them from quitting. Then again, maybe they’re just going to find out their market value and whether or not LSU can match it.

I think it would have to be nil deals written explicitly for what it actually is pay for play, you don’t play you get no pay, miss a practice you get no pay, you get in a fight at practice with a coach you get no pay, you stay for a second year and playing the first game you will get a yearly bonus the following Sunday after staying for a second consecutive year. Etc idk something like this and obviously there will need to be a players union and agreement and not be afraid to walk when players don’t sign the dotted line. Say bye… go to the nfl when your of age
