Just to reiterate. When the other team takes the field to play you, they don’t care what other guys did at LSU in the 90’s.

Just to reiterate, Corbin has won 100% more titles than CPM

And he took over a program with less tournament appearances than CPM had titles

This is gone fishings logic

Coach A comes in today and wins 2 football titles at Mississippi state

Coach B come in today and wins 1 football title with Bama

Gone fishing thinks coach a is the underachiever

You know, you bring up a good point. How does Manieri manage a program as prolific and as storied as LSU’s has been and not know what position(s) a guy played in high school? Does he do any goddamn research on any of these kids when he recruits them? Or, does he rely solely on what Cain tells him about them?

Not the first time, won’t be the last. Everyone thought this gem was hysterical. I always found it embarrassing.

Would love to know how this supposedly great recruiter doesn’t know what his personnel is capable of.

According to you, Corbin achieved less until 2019 but PM should be fired. Vanderbilt also has an advantage in being able to give financial aid for academics that LSU and the rest of the SEC can’t. This has been one of the well documented reasons why Vandy gets stacked rosters and has had more talent than many other schools. So with more talent than LSU, they underachieved until 2019 until they won another title. That’s by your own admission. So now PM is underachieving even though he was doing better than Vandy before 2019? That’s your logic. I wouldn’t be as proud of your logic as you are. Be honest. If Corbin was here then you would have been calling for him to be fired before 2019.

LSU still has tops for in state talent so spare me. Also, Corbin took over a historical horrific program so going with the he has “an easier recruiting route is hilarious”

He took over an absolute abysmal program. He made it

You know that Smoke made the CWS more on average than CPM? Since you’re building a straw man Corbin argument I thought this type of statistic would appeal to you.

I'm not very smart about baseball. But I've been in Left field at Alex Box since LSU built em in 1996.

One observation about Vandy's success is they do it by being error free and having 2 pitchers nobody can hit. Combined with one stud in the lineup ever year, they're in position to win it all in crunch time.

We have more talent top to bottom on the roster but their talent is precise and deadly. And they rarely frick up on offense or defense. They're nerds. Simple concept.

You need to understand, Corbin took over one of the worst programs in D1 baseball. Three tournament appearances, ever. So he had to build a program. You keep acting like that doesn’t matter

I’m not arguing for PM and I’m not making a straw man argument using Corbin. Y’all would be calling for Corbin to be fired at LSU if he was here because we are LSU and deserve better. Vandy has had superior talent than LSU. That’s just a fact.

You are so embarrassingly obtuse you think taking over Vandy in 2003 and LSU in 2006 are equivalent

“I’m not making a straw man argument using Corbin”

Your very next sentence.

“Ya’ll would be calling for Corbin to be fired at LSU if he was here”

Yeah Vandy has recruited really well and had an advantage while doing it. I’m not arguing that. I don’t have anything against Corbin at all. You just don’t see that he has actually done less with more talent. So does that make him a bad HC or manager of a game or season?

It’s called logic. If I follow the logic of PM being LSU’s problem and needing to be fired for underachieving then it follows that the same would go for Corbin for achieving less with more talent.

Two titles is greater than one. He has not done less

Poor CPM, if he just could’ve inherited the New York Yankees instead of the top program in college baseball maybe he’d have had a fair hand dealt to him.

The game has changed. It’s not the top program. Poor you, who is stuck in the past and can’t see that things will never be the way they used to be no matter who the coach is.

That’s not logic that’s making up an argument out of thin air to argue against because yours has no merit. You might wanna Google the term “logic” it’s different from “imagination” or “fabricated.”
