Tatum makes a ton of sense. She's a backup to the backup and she's far from home. Go home and get some minutes.

Well Jackson not so much.

Doesn't she has to sit out a year again?

I can understand for Tatum just odd how all of this has unfolded

I think she graduated so she won’t have to sit out.

If both "graduate" they can transfer to any school without sitting out

Word is she's considering Mississippi State, an old teammate is on roster over there

Thats why I was confused at first but graduating allows her to do so

Its time to make the move they should have made 10 years ago. Either commit to women's basketball or just announce the goal is perpetual good, but no longer great.

Find out how much it would take to get Kim Mulkey back home and pay it. This program would be top 5 within two years and would regularly draw 8,000 to 10,000 fans.

Mullet would be hard pull She is legend in Waco. I would love it if they could make it happen. She knows how to build a program and maintain

Mulkey is treated like a god in Waco, she has some really stacked classes over the next couple years with some stud freshman on roster.

She makes over 2 million I think

Not happening IMO but there are a few other really good coaches out there who recruit well as well

There is always the one idiot who posts this every time it is relevant.

1) Baton Rouge is not "home" for Mulkey.
2) She makes $1 million at Baylor. It would take considerably more than that to get her to move. Baylor is her home now. If people bitch about Nikki making $700K, can you imagine the outrage if LSU paid Mulkey $1.5 million?
3) There is almost 0% chance any move is made right now. What coach that is worth having would drop what they are doing right now and come here? The only name that I have seen mentioned here that would be even remotely possible/logical is Jeff Walz at Louisville. His contract runs through next year with a base salary of $775,000 plus a LOT of incentives that he likely met with Louisville going to the Final Four. As much as people hate it, LSU is going to have to pay in the $1 million range to get someone like that. I really don't want to make a move just for the sake of making a move right now and ending up with the mid-major "flavor of the month"....but there seems to be almost zero possibility of next year not being an absolute disaster. It is a no-win for everyone.

How do y’all know that much about WBB?? I mean, you obviously even keep up with other schools recruiting classes. Good for you but I didn’t realize anyone truly cared that much about any women’s sport. Not trying to dig either you or WBB, just saying that I didn’t know people cared that much. That’s good though.

I am pretty sure Tatum is graduating in May or August. Not sure about Chloe. Tatum going home makes complete sense. She will have degree in hand and have a chance to play immediately because the Colorado State roster was pretty much gutted. They lost 3 seniors and 5 other players transferred.

As for Chloe...who knows. Maybe she doesn't think she can be as effective here without Raigyne by her side? Maybe she sees that we won't be very good in general and wants to win. College sports are almost as bad as free-agency in the pros.

That says it all

But yea transfers are reaching a new level these days

I just can't fathom a team next year that has no Moncrief or Jackson. Sure we may have Mitchell but half the time she's on the bench due to foul trouble, then what?

Next year will be pretty bad unless 3 or 4 players just magically turn into a different player. LSU's offense literally was 3 players last year and now 2 of them are out.

I just don't see the purpose in keeping this staff, just move on.

My point is make the coaching change so they have a chance to haul in a decent 2019 class for the following year. Waiting will just put this team in a hole and it will be a lot more difficult to rebuild

I thought the Kentucky women turned its program around agter they hired I think his name is Mitchell. Well he digressed a little and has to compete with the men.
I think grown men should be allowed to digress as often as they want.

UL is negotiating his extension now. Now that they're in the ACC I'm not sure why he'd leave.

LET ME TELL YOU ONE frickING THING a-hole. I KNOW WHERE KIM MULKEY IS FROM. SHE IS FROM LOUISIANA. BRINGING HER TO LSU WOULD BE BRINGING HER HOME REGARDLESS OF THE FACT SHE IS FROM HAMMOND.

[quote]She makes $1 million at Baylor. It would take considerably more than that to get her to move. Baylor is her home now. If people bitch about Nikki making $700K, can you imagine the outrage if LSU paid Mulkey $1.5 million?

So what if people bitch about Nikki's salary and would bitch more if they paid Mulkey twice that. You don't think LSU athletics can afford an additional $750,000 per year. She has been sucessful at every venture in her life and would be as close to a guaranteed home run hire that could be made in any sport. The increased attendance, concessions and souveneirs and novelty sales would easily cover the extra cost.

The reasons presented by you and others that would preclude convincing Mulkey to take the LSU job may be accurate. But we will never know if a return to Louisiana to finish her career amongst family and friends would trump that unless she is presented with the choice. What is there to lose in offering?

Nikki Fargas seemed like a great hire to restore LSU to the halcyon days of Augustus and Fowles. She has done well but not great. There are several coaches in the country LSU could get who are just like Fargas was then and might very well be a rousing success. None of them have the skins on the wall that Mulkey has and would be very likely to add to her collection at LSU.

If she turns it down, so be it, then move on to the next best hopeful successful hire. But they have to give her the chance to take it and restore LSU to the nation's elite programs. There is a void in the SEC left by Pat Summitt's departure and if Mississippi State and South Carolina can assert rights to queen of the hill so can the former queen in waiting dressed in purple and gold.

That should've been done three fricking years ago.

I'm sure there's a young female Will Wade type out there (Or Male) that could come in and salvage this total wreck, but Nunez is in New Mexico, so who's going to find that coach?
