Coach Fremin leaves Hammond,La for Austin as Assoc Head Coach.
My thoughts are he goes there a yr gets some SEC experience and takes over in Baton Rouge after next year

Plausible but is 1 year enough experience if it’s presumed experience is needed at that level. Texas would be inviting in a raider of sorts if he’s already a foot out the door

That’s not the plan at all, that would be a big conspiracy..let’s see Verge calls Mike White and says hey we want you to hire the coach from selu for just 1 yr so you have to change again and then he is leaving to come to LSU. We appreciate you giving him on the job training.

Why does he need SEC experience when he already beat LSU in a regional in Tiger Park with a SLC team?

How he do this yr? Is that the only requirement to be a head coach at LSU is to win a couple games ? Heck if Jay leaves one day we would have lots of candidates from this yr lol

Let's hope and pray so! Hate to say it but Beth has worn out her welcome in Tiger Town. Can not keep a team together any longer!

I don’t know about all of that but he is damn good coach. He has done some great things with the SLU program.

Seriously? They have very consistently been a very good team. They had one of the lowest (maybe the lowest) team ERAs in the nation. Southeastern was very good.

He has won more than a couple.
I'm not saying at all that he is ready for LSU, that he would succeed at LSU, or that I want him at LSU. But what you said is way off.
I also heard him recently take quite a few jabs at LSU and it seemed indirectly at Beth. Not sure he would even be interested in LSU.

People have dumb thoughts all the time.

The mcneese and southeastern coaches are better than Torina
Torina is collecting a check at this point
Her mom duties got in the way of caring about softball

Both of those coaches would be a neutral change from where we are at unless you say we hire them for 250k. To me, if you move on from a consistent top 15 coach it better be a Lonnie, White, Walton, Earlywhine, JT Gasso type imo. Also, you better have elite recruiter and evaluator on staff, Mike White wouldn’t have won at Kentucky last yr with that talent. Those two have never recruited the same type athletes needed in the sec, I’m not saying they couldn’t but it is a risk

It would be a risk…same risk we took when we hired Torina, whom you defend like you’re related. And would probably be cheaper and do no worse than we have the last 9 years. Remember, you finish mid pack SEC and by default you’re top 15.
Or maybe, just maybe, they’re better coaches and can recruit and the program would be on a better trajectory.
Or we keep being insane and do the same thing over x 9.

I didn’t defend anyone in that post, I said if you move on from a top 15 coach it needs to be a proven winner at this level! Why is that so controversial? If you told me Earlywhine will be here tomorrow I would say let’s go! If we want to hire a mid-major are we stuck with Louisiana coaches just because they live here? The final rankings had SLU at 10 why not hire Grand Canyon, USF? If we gonna go that route there are better choices and have won at a higher level than Fremin or Landreneau

Should I go back and find all the posts you defend Torina in? And who were Earlywine, Lonnie, Murphy, Walton etc before they were at their respective university? You just don’t have big name coaches that jump ship, White being the one off. So you’re gonna have to take a flier on an up and comer and I’d be willing to bet we would at least stay the mediocre course we’re on but for cheaper, And maybe, just maybe we improve.

Just hire an OU assistant and change the whole operation. Easy
Posted on 6/18/26 at 10:04 am to ropesmoknrednek
Earlywhine is an assistant at Tennessee, you don’t think he would jump at being the HC at LSU? Of course he would l!!! Yes, at times I defended AND have criticized which you didn’t mention. You don’t like the posts because I don’t follow your narrative

So you want the coach that was run off from Missouri for Verbally abusing players and creating an unhealthy environment for the athletes?
Is this what you’re saying?
