his benchmark was set this year. You can't call regression or progression with only 1 year set as benchmark.

I think the "addressing needs" narrative has been blown way out of proportion lately. Yes there were some needs that needed addressing but it wasn't near as bad as some on here are saying. The main needs that need addressing are QB play and offensive coaching / gameplanning.

That's going to happen when you had a HOF type of coach like Miles. Give O some time. Let him do what he was placed at the top to do: recruit.

Miserable coaching hires

This is getting bad

O has no business being head coach. He is in way over his head, and anyone responsible for his hire should have seen this.

O has never built or rebuilt a program. Miles needed to go but O was a terrible hire made by a terrible AD.

and who said that ???

please quote them ?? ...

theres literally too many people to quote. for YEARS the mantra was that LSU won in spite of its coaching , not because of it. I would know because I was one of these people who said "any idiot can win 10 games at LSU".

well, let me be the first to admit I was wrong.

quote:

also Miles left with a lot of talent absent in some positions.

LSU returned a first round RB, a first round LB, 6 upperclassmen on the lines, more 4* WRs than you can shake a stick at, and so many DBs that O tried playing one of them at WR, the only other position equally as logjammed.

the whole "Miles left the cupboard bare" excuse is almost as bad as "Troy is a good team" .

O supporters truly are the worst.

Yes. He is a recruiting face. A high-energy guy whose sole purpose is to get more players.

Seems like that would be more of the recruiting coordinator's role. Who's running the program then?

Based on this statement, I'm not sure you know what a recruiting coordinator actually does. I know you'll just ignore this as you do with any posts that contradict your pre-established narrative, but maybe someone else will appreciate the education. The role of the recruiting coordinator is largely administrative and organizational in nature. Here is a good article on the job: starring none other than USC recruiting coordinator, Ed Orgeron: LINK

Duties include:
quote:

Establishes staff recruiting areas and responsibilities.
Compiles recruiting list from coaches, service, etc.
Compiles May recruiting list and transfer information to MSU senior recruiting in the fall.
Arranges recruiting visits for home games.
Creates gameday brochure and mail to prospective recruits.
Organizes game day visit itineraries with staff.
Completes all forms and letters in regards to visits, tickets, etc. with compliance/athletic staff.
Tracks NCAA Clearinghouse list as it pertains to initial eligibility.
Compiles and submits pass list for recruiting days.
Processes proper paper work for official visits w/staff.
Maintains mailing list and check-list on recruits.
Schedules recruiting programs and rooms on campus.
Secures lodging for prospective student athletes on official visits.
Keep Head Coach up to date on all recruiting matters.
Maintains up-to-date records on all incoming freshmen.
Tracks admissions status for incoming freshmen/transfers.
Tracks housing status for incoming freshmen/transfers.
Keeps staff informed of school calendar, activities, events, recruiting calendar and period, test dates, etc. on monthly basis.
Recruits in state area by travel, phone and letter.
Recruits out of state area by travel, phone and letter.
Maintains recruiting Phone call log and collects from staff.
