I’d rather see him yelling and upset over reserved and dejected. At least the emotional response shows you the passion.
nothing the rant loves more than to see a coach losing their shite

This is not true. I’ve rewatched the game and this happened once, and we gained 3-4 yards

Stubborn fool to continue to run into an 8 man front. Wasted down after down.

This is simply not true. I’ve rewatched the game and this happened once, and we gained 3-4 yards.

I’m settling down but a little concerned by the impotent clutch offense

and you don't think play calling had a huge impact on that once we went up 17-13.

oh no? Then explain why we had 10 less passes in the second half despite having two more possessions. It was obvious what BK was trying to do, and he said so much at half-time. Nuss was in total rhythm in the first half and it got all our of sorts with predictable conservative play calling in the second half.

And what did this disposition of the “play caller” get you? That’s right, a loss.

I would rather a composed and clear communicator at this pivotal job.

He is a more intelligible version of Les Miles.

Sorry, 7-8 man fronts. How’s that?

If there are more in the box than you can block, throw the ball. Especially, when the game is clearly not decided.

Forcing the run game against an outnumbered front is exactly what USC wanted LSU to do. It leads to many 3 and outs. And LSU went along and lost.

Some very valid points raised in this thread, but the fact still remains that we only scored 10 points in each half, whether we were run heavy or pass heavy. POINTS win games and we have to score more, obviously

In fairness, we should have had 3 more points in the first half, and that could have made a difference.

Again you clearly didn’t play because when players mess up or don’t execute they are going to be ridiculed.

Him getting pissed off was not the reason they lost. SMH

I wondered if anyone else saw the clip of Sloan screaming. I believe the guy next to him told him to calm down....I wondered what was going on.

I thought he was upset the officials stopped the game to review an obvious reception and took awhile to confirm.

Do any O lines put their hands in the dirt anymore? Or does everyone, including the good rushing teams, use that squat approach as to not tip their hand for run vs. pass? From a physics standpoint, it seems that you would get more explosion/leverage/push if your hands were in the dirt, but I guess that comes at the price of being predictable.

My issue on the offensive play calling is when you need, must have yardage, a run up the middle gives you no options. A well designed RPO allows for on the fly decisions to the most favorable option based on defensive positioning.

If the problem in the 2nd half was USC doubling Lacey, the Tigers are in for a long year. If Daniels, Anderson, Thomas and Taylor couldn't take up the slack somewhat, it's not a good sign, because other good defenses will just do the same. If they take away Lacey, will the running game be good enough to win games against good teams? Judging solely from the limited sample size, the answer appears to be "no."

A healthy Hilton would be a big help, but he's never been able to stay on the field very much.
