Kelly's speciality is offense and QB's. Where's his input?

Kelly has been an offensive and defensive coach at some point. Some point over 20 years ago.

Yeah, 2nd and long, it's going to be a run. Very predictable on that down and distance.

Do y’all think Brad Davis is a horrible coach or is it scheme?

Wait, you mean the fact that we run and RPO offense, with a QB that doesn't run.

They pay Kelly a lot of money to have his shite together and he does not. It’s pretty pathetic.

Yeah, but you have to keep him to get Brice underwood…oh wait.

Learn the difference between scheme and play calling. The scheme has only been tweaked since last season and the playbook is also largely still the same. The problem is the plays that are being called and the sequencing of them.

Sloan’s issue is that he can’t call a game well enough to work around the limitations that we have, and that’s one of the things that separates average from elite.

If we had a better run game, Sloan would probably be fine. If we had a legitimate deep ball threat between Nuss and one or two WRs, that would make a huge difference. But we don’t, and he’s not good enough to coach around that. And that means he’s really not good enough to be in this position.

Guys at this level have to be able to enhance their offenses’ strengths and hide their weaknesses and he just can’t do that. Honestly, that wasn’t a huge strength for Denbrock either, but he was better and a lot more experienced.

I don’t think Sloan is a bad as House, but they have the same basic problem. They can’t adjust enough to what they have to create consistent success. With Underwood gone, it’s time to at least demote Sloan. If he moves on because of it, so be it.

Exactly. Kelly took a huge risk, because of underwood. Now that he’s gone, Kelly has to hire a real OC. There’s really no going around it. Sloan doesn’t make a lot of money (from a coordinator standpoint), so it’s not like they have a huge buyout to manage.

Will this fanbase ever learn what a fricking RPO is and that they RARELY require the QB to run? It’s only game 11.

Read Option != RPO.

That will help, but I question if this game has passed Kelly by. He can’t adapt to the portal and NIL.

The zone read is a very effective play for a QB that can run. That is not Nuss

I understand that, but read the post. That’s not what he said.

And conversely, the RPO is perfect for a QB like Nuss if he makes the right reads. We’ve had several TDs this season off of RPO throws. He doesn’t pull the ball often enough.

With Underwood off the table, there is zero reason to keep Sloan as an OC. Offer the man a demotion and go get a top flight OC.

Kelly hired Sloan. So much for assumptions.
