Great combination of talent, skill, and smarts.

Love watching him play the game!

Couldn’t buy a layup last year. His finishing has improved a ton.

Great player. I also have to give props to Waters these past 2 games. Maybe we should keep Waters coming off the bench. It’s seem to have worked..

If we could put Mays' mentality for taking guys to the rim in Reid, then Reid would be really scary.

“So steady & under control”
————-

Which is the exact opposite of how he played last season, especially early. He would rush the rim like the Tasmanian Devil, out of control. He’s got a good head on his shoulders, has learned from his mistakes, and has matured into a much more controlled player.

Honestly may be an all time great improvement from a player at LSU. Completely different player since he stepped foot on campus in 2016.

Playing great this year. I am still getting used to watching him play. He never really looks like he is totally engaged. And he often looks like he is lackadaisical in his movement. I am coming to realize it’s just his expressions and the way he naturally moves. He is very athletic and moves well.

Exactly what I was thinking after those first couple of finishes of the game. I'm so happy for him seeing that

He has made steady improvement every year. He has all but eliminated the major
weak spot in his game, the numerous I’ll adviced drives to the baske. He would take at least a dozen per game drives where, in most case he either lost the ball or got his shot blocked. Now those happen very seldomly and many games not at all. He still is getting the same or more handful of great plays at the basket, without the downside

Lot of folks wanted him gone at the end of last year. Glad we kept him around.

The only idiots that wanted him gone are the idiots that do not know anything about the game of basketball.

They are also the same idiots that before the season started said that Mays should not start this year b/c of Smart, and that his minutes would be significantly down. Never mind, Will Wade said repeatedly in interviews how much he likes Mays' game and how much he had improved in the offseason.

As someone already stated, he has improved greatly with each season and currently sits as the most efficient scorer in the SEC. And this whole narrative about him being a horrible finisher at the rim needs to die. He had a couple of bad games last year, where yes, he had some bad drives to the basket, and very bad looking shots. But overall, he was at or above the national average for finishing at the rim by the end of the season. It's just people chose to remember the bad (as most fans do) and allowed it to drown out all the good and paint this picture that he was horrible at finishing.

He was also our best on-ball defender by the end of last season as well. Something that has carried over into this season.

Yea he had been the most consistent player. My favorite player is Marlon Taylor tho. Those highlight dunks is unreal.
