The thread turned quickly from Skip dropping info to cackling hens gossiping about Miles' sex life. I imagine this is what a transcribe of a beauty parlor afternoon would look like. Bunch of women in here.
I'm guessing the rumors at Michigan are fair game now without warning/ban?

The Rumor of Miles banging Mueller's wife and him getting drunk over it was bannable here?

Regardless of why he did not take the field, Mettenberger was the centerpiece of the game plan that was scrapped.

Skip used the phrase "Nick wore us out" several times. He said that every yr, Sexton would show up in his A.D. office, letting SKip know that..in no order...the Bears were after him, the Lions were after him, the Jaguars were after him. He obviously still respects Nick but from the tone of his sentences, he had just about had enough by the time Sexton talked to him about the Fins' interest. Skip did really want to hire Spurrier but as indicated here, Nick kept dragging his feet & by the time Nick made his decision, Spurrier had already signed a contract with the Cocks. He said, when asked, that he would not hire Kiffin, either; previously saying he would not hire Petrino because of "character issues" and the blown interview.

Same reason all plans got changed, wasn't the way the HMFIC wanted it done.

That's interesting. Even as the GOAT college coach, to this day, the Michigan State message boards are split on whether MSU should have done everything they could to keep Saban. It's easy to say now that they should have, but many people say the school was held hostage every year just like that, and it became too much to deal with.

people have different marriages not for me, but none of my business. Except when I am here gossiping about Miles poon pad.

much like LSU vs the dolphins, there was nothing MSU could do to stop us from taking him. It was the next step for him and we offer far more than they ever could offer.

I cannot wrap my head around this, why change at the last minute? This may answer why we looked so utterly unprepared.
That day was the beginning of the end for me with Les, that was a putrid showing.

Again, thats VERY easy to say and see now....but then???
Saban went like 9-4 his last year. Miles comes in and goes 11-2 and Saban tanks in NFL....
So Saban calls and says "I wanna come back"......you drop everything and do it?? I doubt it.
Youre basing your opinion off years of experience and knowledge Skip didnt have at the time
Saban went 9-2 in his last regular season. 9-3 with the lane duck bowl loss. Second, I thought Saban was superior to Miles in 2005. And I wasn't the only one. There were several threads predicting Saban's rise to dominance when he went to Bama in 2007. Those proved to be prescient. It didn't require unique genius to see that Saban was always superior to Miles. He was always so much more tactical, so much more disciplined, so much more aware and intelligent, so much more coveted in football circles. Skip was prideful and he was just wrong. No way around that. A huge error that cost LSU dearly.

Saban really screwed us on timing. It is funny to hear he didn't want to do it.
that's his MO. his way of explaining things is to look like the "innocent". same when he left Miami; turning bleeding heart on the dolphins owner.

Wow. This thread has really regressed. We went from Skip dropping good info to arguing over why Les purchased a condo right off campus. Does it matter why he did it? Some fans obsess of the silliest things.

Miles probably should have taken that Michigan gig after 2011. It was his dream job and home for him. 2011 was the high point and he had been at lsu long enough that a change would have been good for him.
Huh? The Michigan job was open after 2010 season. Brady Hoke was hired before the 2011 season.
Les wasn't going to ditch a title contending team like that, and he wasn't offered the job after the 2011 season. he was offered the job before it.
