RIP coach Bertman! Thank you for all the memories you provided to so many!
Especially to young kids who attended your baseball camps! You changed the lives of so many for the better! I will always remember the first time I heard the hold the rope story at your camp, wow!!
Your camps were some of the best days a young kid could ask for !

First time I ever ate Canes. At baseball camp sitting behind home plate at the old box. We got in trouble for ordering hooters from our hotel. One of the players brought the food up but was cool about it and he let us keep it.

Spent a lot of summers at them, I really liked playing baseball in the indoor practice facility for some reason.

My favorite memory was Beetle Bailey telling a group of 9 year olds that anyone whose stomach overlapped their belt at our age had zero shot of ever becoming a college baseball player 
. 30 minutes later they fed us McDonald's cheeseburgers for lunch

What was the name of that indoor batting cage/arcade that they'd take us to mid-week? Am I misremembering that happening or what the facility was like? Late 90s/Early 2000s.

Posted this before as a 16 year old kid I attended the week long Skip Bertman camp in 1988. Those memories I will never forget. Being inside old Alex box, riding the white bus around Campus, eating inside the student cafeteria, looking at the LSU college girls, etc. Also being coached up by Skip, Beetle Bailey, Mike Bianco(player coach) was awesome. Skip Bertman made LSU baseball what it is today. He brought baseball to little towns in Louisiana and did baseball clinics when no one else did stuff like that. He is our George Washington and LSU baseball is probably the best program in the national because of Skip Bertman. RIP Skip. Prayers to his family.

You talking about Skip Bertmans Grand Slam? I think that's what it was called. GOAT birthday parties when we were kids

Went 3 times. Several memories. Hit a monster rag ball bomb off Lyle Mouton and pimped it a little. He hit me my next time up.
So many more, but I was a kid and loved Lyle , so that was pretty cool. Remember eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (I think) in some bleachers while listening to Ben McDonald give a speech. Turtle, Smoke,
Boots. Great times.
