CLM was hired at LSU because he had a 2-2 record vs Bob Stoops. I just wanted to see the difference between both coaches since 2001 when CLM became a HC

Record
Stoops 159-40 (179-45)

CLM 139-53

Bowl Record
Stoops 7-7 (8-8 overall)

CLM 7-6

Conference Championships
Stoops 9 (10 overall)

CLM 2

National Championships
Stoops 0-3 (2000 BCS champs)

CLM 1-1

So my question is which resume would you rather have. Until this season Stoops was thought to be washed up by all of America and needed to be let go, but if LSU let CLM go it would be the worst thing ever. Stoops has accomplished more at OU yet the media defends CLM to the end.

The last 4 years is all I am worried about when it comes to Miles.

Seems convenient in order to paint the worst picture.

The comparison was from 2001 when CLM became a HC. OU won in 2000

Convenient to tell the truth? How about that less than .500 winning percentage against the SEC West since 2012? That is FOUR full seasons.

Why not go back 5 or just do this year? He has a winning record if you go back 5, he's .500 if you do this season. But that doesn't fit your agenda.

I like how fans like to omit the best regular season in school history because it doesn't jive with their bashing.

You make the most ridiculous points...

Who CAN you compare to Saban?

lol... That's it? That's the ONLY reason?

See, it's your use of absolutes that make most of your opinions invalid.

Wait...so what, exactly, is your point?

No, you can only compare Miles to Curley Hallman and the last two years of Gerry DiNardo's era. All other comparisons will be met with, 'remember the 90's.'

Seems accurate to predict the direction of the program.

Stoops was put in an awkward situation last year, when he had to make a decision, on whether or not he would retain josh heupel as the offensive coordinator. In the end, he decide to make a change, and hired a new offensive coordinator that excited the fan base, and now OU is in the playoffs this year. miles is in the exact same situation now, and I hope he makes the same choice, that stoops did.

The fact is that his SEC west record is abysmal the last few years. He currently has losing records against Hugh Freeze, Bret Bielema, and Nick Saban. He is 2-7 against Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Alabama the last 3 years. With our talent and coaching this shouldn't be the case.

Well, considering winning % and bowl record are virtually identical, I'll take the one with a national championship.

Miles isn't going to make any changes. He knows LSU can't make him do anything now.

I think we all agree that 2011 was a great year. The problem is LSU has been on a steady decline since 2011. I consider this year a decline due to the three consecutive arse kickings. It was a very ugly November.

The majority of coaches that make changes to their offenses are typically defensive coaches. Stoops, Saban, and Gary Patterson are top coaches that have done this. CLM is an offensive coach and they are less likely to make changes. The only way I see changes in the offense is if CCC's contract is not renewed but right now it looks like it's going to be.

Except we have better sec record this year than last year? I'm not sure you know what steady decline means.

So you're saying Big Game Bob > or = Lose in November Les? Record is better overall and nearly 5x the conference titles, but he's in a much easer conference.

If Cameron stay's, I would hope Les would find away to hire an elite qb coach. The lack of production at Qb has been unreal, over the past 11 years.

Exactly. And stoops went into about a 4 year slump but made some philosophy changes offensively. If miles does the same I would bet he could see the same success.
