This will be the inevitable path… I wish the boosters would pull the trigger but thanks to Woody for negotiating a completely shite contract, LSU is left with no choice…minus Graves saying frick it and writes the check for the full amount or amortize for the remaining of the contract
If Kelly is retained, it will be arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. If Kelly stays, it's going to get dark.
Hopefully since we entered the rev share era, we have seen the end of these insane buyouts. Its not sustainable longterm.

The RB depth and production has gotten worse every year under Wilson.
This isnt a product of Wilson.
Depth has gotten worse because of run-ins with the law.
Production has gone down due to injuries and offensive scheme.
Durham and Berry are top end RBs (when healthy). Besides, you must have a New Orleans don on the staff.
Fire Frank and he gets snatched up immediately by another SEC school and we start losing New Orleans talent by the boat load.

Here’s the issue, I don’t dislike BK, AND despite the conversations on this board, believe he can win here.
(To be fair, he’s done what LSU usually does—> 8-4/9-3 seasons. He just hasn’t had the big come together season.)
He’s recruited well, has a fantastic defensive staff, but needs to revamp the offense.
Building around Nuss has proven to fail. (Who would’ve foreseen that he would regress considering last year.)
- The O-Line has issues (which would be expected when replacing basically the entire line.) However, the recruits are there, development is suspect, and bad QB play exasperates the problem.
- WR rotation has been an issue, but who would’ve foreseen that the QB couldn’t throw to them? (Bodies are there through recruitment)
- RB lacks depth and rotation is baffling. (However, Frank is VITAL in recruiting.)

My list:
- Andy Kotelnicki (Penn state/prev. Kansas OC)
- Buster Faulkner (Georgia Tech OC)
- Charlie Weis Jr. (Ole Miss OC —> does in fact calls plays; lane interjects)
- Collin Klein (TAMU OC)
Bobby Petrino should be called if he doesn't get the Head Coaching job at Arkansas (which I don't think he will get).

You’re right and that’s why anything worse than 8-4 and he’s gone. People are tired of this and it’s not just fans with money talking emotionally. This is business now. You’re better off moving on from Kelly and they will.

Brad Davis needs to go.
He rolled the dice with KW as DL coach, so go ahead a give the OL job to Kevin Mawae.

How'd we get ourselves in this predicament?

Look man. Outlook is bleak but the season ain't over until it's over.
Going back to 2021, I think BK has been the best hire out of all of the candidates that were mentioned (Riley, Franklin, Napier, Fickell, Stoops, Jimbo, etc.).
I'd say Kiffin is the only one that we "missed" but BK is 2-2 against Lane during his tenure here and he had a winning record against him while he was at ND.
In his last four seasons at ND, Kelly went to a NY6 bowl in three of the four seasons. He went 11-2 in the other season.
He had established himself as a program builder, and I don't think it was a terrible option at the time. It took a big contract to get him here, and it just hasn't panned out like we thought.
Will he turn it around this season? Not likely, but maybe. We could be doing a lot worse like some of these other schools.
And unless we are guaranteed to get Kiffin or Lanning or someone similar like that, I wouldn't pull the trigger on getting rid of Kelly.

It wont matter who he hires.
Him at the lead position is a problem.

His body language is of a man who has given up. Maybe he gets a second wind but he sure looks like a man ready to take a reasonable settlement.
This is what I saw in his post-game press conference this past Saturday; he looks like a man who is finished and defeated and just wants to go home.

Why spend the money to rebuild the staff if Kelly is not going to make it? His ship is set to sail and we all know it whether it's this year or next.
Kelly picked Sloan. He's missed to date and proven incapable of overcoming an adverse situation by stepping up as a coach and not just being the GM. I would save the ammo on an expensive OC hire and let Kelly's eventual replacement bring in his own offensive guys.

He will be here at least 3 more years.
Not if the fans are not attending games and boosters cut off funding to woodard and athletics department
trust me, the fans have a lot of say how long a coach stays
4th year in and we're underdogs in at least 4 of our remaining games
lost to two little brothers Ole Miss and Vandy already
that's not hitting the LSU standard
