LSU has three national championships since 2003.

The only program with more is Alabama with five.

The flash in the pan people can suck it.

Had 1/9 gone the other way, we’d have the same amount as Bama in that time

Possibly more, since 1/9 broke the program for a while.

LSU has become an elite program with a blue-blood pedigree over the past two decades.

When Saban was hired people thought LSU was stupid to want ‘more.’ Now? LSU is an undisputed top-10 program all time.

Since we are dreaming, what if we had hired Spurrier rather than Archer.

In addition to this "what if" and as depleted of talent as that 2012 team was, if LSU manages to make a tackle in the Bama game, LSU likely goes on to face that extremely overrated Notre Dame team in the BCS that season.

This championship erased 1/9 for me after having the greatest season of all time and arguably the best team of all time.

What if the refs weren’t complete screwups and had actually called OSUs last second field goal as good like it really was.

We’d never had played Bama again in 2011.

You can take that back to the start of the BCS era in 98.

(Or technically Florida's title a couple years earlier, but start of BCS is a better line of demarcation)

Same. if Miles wins in 2011, we probably never see the 2019 we just saw. It's all good.

There are tons of "what ifs" from that 2011 season one could ask.

With all else being equal, what if:
Michael Ford doesn't step out of bounds in the first game and scores that touchdown, does Bama still get the mulligan?

Bama wins the first game, does LSU get the rematch?

The team from the BigXII was OU rather than OSU, do they get in ahead of that same Bama team?

The voters do the "right" thing and take into account everything that went on the week of that Oklahoma State game when casting their votes and actually look at accomplishments that season?

Added:
What if ESPN doesn't trot Saban out to stump for his team during the championship weekend telecast of College GameDay? Gundy had a game to coach that day, so he didn't receive that benefit.

It's crazy to think about that what if's.

If the BCS doesn't frick things up and OSU gets in like they were supposed to we probably win in 2011.

If we don't get a bad case of Chavis prevent defense in 2012 we probably win the title that year.

But if those happen then we probably don't get 2019.

The five years after 1/9 are one of the greatest five-year periods in program history.

A lot of people don't remember or know about the plane crash the night before the game they lost.

He would've left for Florida after two seasons like he did with Duke.

For me, I wouldn't say it has completely erased 1/9. It has definitely helped relieve much of that anguish though.

You may be right, but it's a hell of a lot tougher to leave LSU than it is to leave duke.
