Great article. I always enjoy Dellenger's SI articles on LSU.

Bo is 52 while O is 58!

Eventually Ed O will retire. Think it’s at the end of his 7-year contract at age 65?

Pelini would be 59 then if he stays.
Too old for Bo to Coach LSU at 59?

45 seems to be around the max age for getting a P5 coach! Ex: Ryan Day, Kirby Not So Smart, Rincoln Liley, etc

I always heard that and I finally got to see it for myself with all the replays on TV lately. He's fricken aggressive!!!

Is the talent he has now better than the 05'-07' talent?

Why? The guy is a nutcase.

I enjoy the fact that the article discusses his 'perception is reality problem'. People don't really know him but go off what they see on TV. And, boom! This post.

Precisely. I casually chatted with him several times before he started his first stint at LSU (coached his son’s soccer team). He showed no evidence of being a “nutcase” in that setting, though I never discussed football with him (I try not to be that guy).

Count me in on that! If he only stays for a little while, wouldn't it be a good trade for another 'big year'? I think prior to last year if we all knew that we'd only get Brady for one year and that one year was what it was not a soul would complain.

I enjoy the fact that he was constantly criticized and called a nut case on this site until he came back into the fold.

Hope so and the sideline energy will certainly go through the roof

Is it too much to ask for just one repeat of last season? Hate to get too greedy and unappreciative ......

Ironically Tom Osborne was the only Nebraska guy defending him during all that shite

He will be the head coach of Arkansas in 2022 after restoring the LSU defense to the best in the nation by 2021.

One thing for sure, those teams tackled well in space and ALWAYS delivered the big HIT.
Bo’s defense always hit hard. They swarmed to the ball and killed people. I watched the Virginia Tech replay and couldn’t believe how aggressive they were compared to the LSU defenses we have been seeing. It was amazing to see. Aranda’s defenses may have been more complex and well designed but Bo’s defense was just plain fricking mean. I like a mean defense that pounds opposing teams brains out.

What’s stopping him assuming he has good success here? He’s still got an excellent P5 record as HC, plenty of time away from any issues he may of had at Nebraska, he’s still pretty young, and it’s clearly in his ambitions to do so.

If O can get another shot the way he did, Pellini certainly can.

Bo’s schemes will be more direct and his philosophy more aggressive. “The Professor” seemed overly analytical and passive.

People have a short memory. Pelini moved away from blitzing his last season here. Hope he’s still got something in the DC tank and can scheme against spread offenses of today.
