Fields will not replace Burrow. 2 QB system will not work with LSU. Fields would be great for 2020 and 2021 assuming he wins the position.
Posted on 12/19/18 at 5:31 pm to TrueTigerTale
he's going to Oklahoma or Ohio St

Yes, please.
We need a legit dual threat QB and plays designed for one.

Then guarantee Fields as the LSU starter in 2020 and 2021. Just get him here. Can you imagine the Tiger Stadium welcome for Alabama on that day with Fields as LSU's starter?

Might be tough to say that then transfer even further south to Louisiana

Graduate transfer Joe Burrow stepped up in several big moments, but the Tigers threw for fewer than 200 yards in seven games this season and threw only 13 touchdown passes. Any semblance of a vertical passing threat, which Fields possesses, could give them an attack to scare Alabama for the next few years.
LSU is not "Scaring" Alabama with Fields (Or anybody else) in the immediate future until the OL is significantly upgraded and I haven't seen enough in Cregg OL recruiting to make a big difference.

We'd lose Brennan for sure.

By the time LSU plays Alabama in 2019, LSU's Oline will have depth and will be rocking and rolling, LSU had too many injuries and absentees in 2018 along the Oline.

I hate to say this but I am very worried Myles seems to be having a very difficult time getting that 210-200 lb range. I hope he can make it. It is for this reason along with if fact that if you think this kid can make the team better, you go try to get him. Most players and fans can by into that message.

He seems like a competitor, but I agree. He's got too small a frame to take some hits from SEC caliber defenders. He'd get destroyed. I'd love for him to one day be the star QB at LSU, but if LSU goes in hard for Fields, you have to assume the coaching staff thinks that won't happen.

quote:yes, but it's nonsense. One guy apparently called him a racial slur. And gee, I think there have been, what, 1000 black players at Georgia over the past 30 years and we haven't heard a peep about "racism."
He is claiming racism. That’s the rumor. He will have to word it’s if he feels unsafe on uga campus but he will definitely win if he goes that route. Ncaa won’t touch it
Really disappointed Fields is going this route.

So short sighted by you clowns
He is using racism only because he knows that is his only shot at a waiver

Yeesh, if that's true then I don't want Fields -- we don't need that toxicity here.

But I HATE seeing the race card used when it isn't warranted.

Burrow in '19 and Fields in '20-'21 would be a huge upgrade.
He's not coming here to sit behind Burrow. Especially if the NCAA allows him to play next season.

LSU is not set up to make QBs Heisman candidates, get to the NFL, score against ALA, or complete more than 12 TDs with a record number of attempts.
His attorney says he will have immediate eligibility.
His trainer Quincy Avery and OSU Ryan Day are friends and Fields is going to go where "QB Development and Utilization" is top priority and proven...OSU and Day is where Avery would send his son.
Fields is highly touted by Avery who trained Watson, Trevor Lawrence, and Dwayne Haskins. Haskins/Fields/ and Watson have all been training together with Avery.
Fields had the highest Sparq Rating for QBs and runs a 4.5. Avery says Fields is incredibly accurate, a powerful runner, has an NFL ready arm, and has more going on with the mental aspect than others.
OSU is his most likely destination. OU, and FSU round out the top 3.
Putting LSU on the list gets us all clicking and writing. First, LSU needs to get a legit QB Coach and be endorsed by people like Quincy Avery who is regarded as the best QB Coach/Trainer in the business.

He would come in and immediately start over Burrow. I’ll never understand all the Burrow love on this board, the dude is average at best.
