Should We have Taken Saban's Advice and Hired Nutt?

If I recall correctly, Dick when asked who should replace him said something like, "Houston Nutt, he does more with less."
Would we have still won the MNC with Nutt? Would we have won it in the year before with Russell?
Thoughts?
At the point, I think that may have been the better choice.

Nutt is a good coach. I agree that he can win with mediocre players. He would done well for y'all with the talent you guys have coming in every year

I dunno the whole Mitch Mustain debacle was handled about as poorly as a coach can handle that kind of situation, he really looked like a total count

No, You would have seen the fastest decline in recruiting, Look at the talent Arkansas has now.

Can someone please explain this thing to me?
From my perspective, Nutt let the kid start just about every game as a true FRESH and for some reason he and his parents weren't happy so they bitched and left or something. I'm sure there's alot more to it, so help me out.

Nutt is a good fit for Ole Miss. Arkansas is not a hot bed for recruiting football players but Nutt was able to pull talent to Arkansas, thats what Ole Miss needs. Schools like Arkansas, Ole Miss, and even Tennessee needs coaches who can recruit outside of that respective state.

There was an email from his personal email that said he wanted to hit mustains mom with a 2x4 yet he didn't know how to use the computer.
He is also the only freshman qb to go 8-0 as a freshman. When the year of the dog book (south carolina game week,he got benched. What a concidence) came out he bashed nutt saying they would have a better chance of landing me if they got rid of nutt. Talked about how boring the offense was with always running and said that his high school team did more in practice than arkansas does and their in the sec.
Both sides were wrong but nutt handled the situation wrong.

In nuts defense, I think most of the Arkansas fans wanted to hit his mom with a 2x4. yes?

Yup
He is 1-2 against vandy.
For some reason mcfadden and jones had a combined 1 carry against mcfadden in a loss. I doubt lsu fans would want to settle for 4-4 in conference.

Not really... he got the occassional ones that he had to pull in (like Felix Jones) but most fell into his lap by being from Arkansas.

Nutt gets too much credit as a coach who does so well with so little. His Arky talent has not been THAT bad, after all he had an NFL backfield recently. I think he is a solid recruiter and decent coach, but I bet Petrino does better in the future.

No...Nutt frickings sucks at recruiting. he would have done well the first few years because of the players we had but it would have gone down hill quick because he just cant recruit.

This has got to be the worst post ive ever read on here. LSU just won a NC and you're talking "what ifs" about a coach that has done absolutely nothing. Thank God this board wasnt around in the 90's. Im surrounded by idiots.
