I think he is fine. He doesn't lose complete control.

I asked this a couple of weeks ago. I say yes. He's better from the stretch.

I have never liked his rocker step out of the windup. He doesn't rock at all, he actually steps forward.

This question is probably something the coaching staff is able to handle on their own.

Don't you realize posters on The Rant know more about baseball than all college baseball coaches combined know?

Yea you are correct, I clearly wasn't thinking of the Rant "coaching staff".

Throwing from the stretch all the time puts too much stress on the arm. You should know that.

If it's a mechanical thing it's worth a shot. Verdugo did it a little early in 08.

But I don't know if it's mechanical or just that he has better focus with runners on.

So you think he pitches better with runners on base vs no runners on base and this improved quality of pitching is due to him throwing out of the stretch? Give me his performance data throwing from windup and throwing from stretch and we will consider your brilliant discovery. Heck maybe the coaches will read the Rant after the game and get it fixed by next week. I will await your data.

Other pitchers have done it. And if its successful, he wouldnt be throwing from the stretch too much more than he is now
